My father made this mistake once, lets see who can spot it?

Everyone enjoys seeing these big wins, but congratulating someone for pushing a few buttons and seeing how a computer reacts? Get real.

I see these jackpots posted by Jason and it reminds me of the many big wins his dad used to post. Remember that cringeworthy video of Alan SINGING the jackpot jingle after hitting a high-limit royal at Caesar's?

I'm a little miffed at why these kinds of players post these things, when it's obvious knowledge that those big handpays last about as long as a bag of ice in your cooler. Most of these players simply can't resist the false confidence of "how easy it was hitting that big winner as they rush into playing their piles of cash on even higher denominations. It is classic gaming-addict behavior.

You've all seen this clown Cerveza something pop in and out of here with pictures of big wins, claiming "I haven't played a hand anywhere since my last big show-off win" which he began claiming after I shamed him for always blowing his winnings without admitting it. So WTF do you think players like Jason do after posting these things?

Alan was quite the character to me. He was your typical S.California very busy social butterfly, who simultaneously began every evening with sweaty palms while frantically thinking about being back at the machines in Vegas to give it another go. Why do you think he took so many last minute night time jaunts over I-15 in the middle of the night?

$2 royals...$5 royals...$25 royals...he seemed to have Caesar's number--or at least that's the way it APPEARED to be. But I knew better because I know how addicted vp players react to hitting big jackpots--just as casinos also know. HIGHER LIMITS HERE WE COME!

If you've ever read my articles, my books, my website, or saw or listened to me on TV or radio etc., you'd know I've always railed against players running g to higher limit machines after hitting it big. Yes you MAY do it again and even bigger this time, but you overwhelmingly will not. But this wisdom does not stop problem gamblers.

I've always strongly advocated for vp players to go DOWN in denomination after hitting large winners. In fact, after I hit that large winner on $25UX at Circa a few years ago, I vowed to never again play higher than dollars--and I've stuck to that to this day. I refuse to someday go to my grave as a loser.

So while these large vp wins may mesmerize some of you who can never even begin to dream about playing at the levels some of these guys play at, think of how lucky you are not to have to go through what the bad-ending roller coaster rides these players go through. And if you're a gambling realist, this is the Undeniable Truth.

But when Dan Druff (of all people) came along telling him not to feel bad about his mistake because it enabled him to win a bigger jackpot a short time later, and slapinfunk concurred, the thread took a hard right turn into voodoo-ism.

And now Singer comes along doubling down on this complete voodoo nonsense that of progression play because you are "due", (or not due after a win).

Just complete nonsense. Complete gambling voodoo. One hand or spin has absolutely nothing to do with the next. PERIOD!! The VERY voodoo nonsense I have spent years challenging with people like Singer and Mdawg (Mdawgs betting into hot streaks and Singer telling us the machines signal when they are "due". )

This is not voodoo.

This is the observation that if he had played correctly his subsequent results would have been random and therefore unlikely to have been as good as his actual session result (which was lucky).

Yup, I think we’ve all made that mistake.

Now I’m in the habit of just holding the 4OAK and drawing for the kicker even when I’m on a game where it’s not in play.

These sorts of mistakes come up once in a while in UX vulturing since you are always switching UX screens on the same machine. For example holding a high card in UX bonus deuces wild or UX deuces wild since you forgot that you are not in a non-wild card theme for a second (i.e. a brain fart) as you play 5 different themes in the space of a few spins (and a few seconds) if there are a lot of plays on that machine.

Earlier that night while playing the pokers. I thought I was outkicked... I usually always turn my hand up when I muck "just in case" but one of the cards hit a chip or something and didn't fully flip over so only one card showed. Was a 4 flush board and I had a flush, other guy didn't... Thankfully only a 40bb pot, but I was upset about it... dude wanted to give me the money and I declined... However I did double up through him a few hands later with a full 120bb buy-in so it more than made up for it... heh...

Usually I'm more on top of things... It was one of those night were everyone is drawing out on your or you are outkicked and I was tired of getting wrecked. My worst session in 12 sessions. Well, 12 winning sessions followed by losing 4 buy-ins which is really nothing in comparison.

Maybe if he did something slightly different, he would have flopped a full house.
And the next hand he would have been dealt a Royal Flush times 12.

One little card, I would hate myself even if I could convince myself an actual little card would appear had I played perfectly. I would never make this mistake, but everyone has their weaknesses.
