Thread: Fat Lady Singing

Well, this is the first time in my life that I was all-in for the Republicans across the board. Put me in the category with the Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, Bill Maher, Brett Weinstein contingent -- it speaks to the insanity of the current Democratic Party that this group of high-profile lifetime progressives has soured mightily on what constitutes the "Left" these days. In many ways, and it's hard to believe, the party of free speech in the 60's and 70's through 2000 has become the party of censorship. That was the single issue for me.

I made enough on the betting side to finance an LV trip, which is cool.

And finally, the mainstream media (as they say) is so full of it. Offshores had Trump favored by as much as -170 early today. The US media kept trying to push some pro-Harris fantasy story. Virtually every story in the last 48 hours has been about how much trouble the Trump campaign was in. This wasn't reporting. This was drug-addled, self-deluded cheerleading. It was manipulative. It was purposeful. No one should trust MSNBC or CNN going forward.

SNL should be forced to feature Trump as host before he takes office. Equal time and all that.

    Congratulations!
Betting on Elections is next level degeneracy!
What odds did you get when you put your money down?
    Did you have to Lay?

Monet, you're missing real money-making opportunities. I think the first time I made a good chunk was betting Kerry to win when he was one of many candidates at long, long odds. I blew the opportunity of a lifetime with the Clinton/Trump election, because if you had enough money offshore that you could let sit for months (I don't usually do that, because offshores can run into the occasional disaster), the odds see-sawed back and forth with multiple arbitrage opportunities. You could have bet Clinton, then Trump, then Clinton, then Trump, and had a good old time, making money each step of the way. I made nothing on that.

I reported my odds on here months ago. KewlJ gave me grief, a week later, for not getting the best numbers. I really didn't expect Biden dropping out to make the Dems' chances better, but who knows with those damn Dems? They do a lot of drugs.

The offshores never budged. The UK sports books kept Trump solidly favored. It was only in the US, with every pollster employed by CNN or ABC favoring Harris at the end, where the perception was that Harris would win. The woman should be tried for treason for hiding Biden's true condition from the public. How do you then run her for president with no vetting process?

The entire election process, it could be argued, was gimmicked against Trump. He spends x number of dollars and Y energy and planning to deal with Biden, Biden flunks out, so the Dems switch candidates, which then required a re-investment to beat a different opponent. Did any mainstream media discuss this obvious handicap? Hell, no. Did any mainstream media discuss the trauma of being involved in a public endeavor after you've been shot and a person behind you was killed? Of course not. The most obvious personal interest storyline, and no one pursued it. People simply don't emotionally recover in a couple of days from being shot and having a person near them killed. But the media moved on from cutting Trump any emotional breaks.

As an old journalism major, I found it all jury rigged and completely manipulative. Unprecedented. Real Orwell stuff.

LOL. I got non-optimal numbers from a calendrical perspective. I got optimal numbers the day I bet it.

In college football, for people who are interested, I get optimal numbers about 70% of the time, which is remarkable and to die for, but takes a lot of work and constant monitoring, even at 3 AM. It also requires effective anticipation and top-notch judgement.

    How were YOUR numbers?

    No Worries.
My degenerate comment was actually a compliment.
I'm too lazy to scroll through to see what price you got.
    I'll stick to the NHL.
    Much Easier.
