This is probably somewhat over the heads of most of the little people here--and it'll irritate the shit out of them--but I stopped flying in 2000 after having had to do it for my working career for 25 years....and over 3 million miles on 3 major airlines plus maybe millions more on others. I don't want or need all the nonsense that comes with air travel these days, and sitting back and laughing at all the delays, moronic passenger actions, and how poorly kept up our airport infrastructure and ATC system is, etc., is very relaxing indeed.

You should reread this thread. You're not following. I'm not looking to beef with Mickey nor do I think he will make most people look like an ass.

We were talking about trying to come up with an estimate of the climate change were seeing being random. We can look at similar heating periods and figure out how often such things exist. Then from there ... blah blah. It bores me explaining it but Micky loves living in his own little world of bullshit.

edit - I'm quite over slots. Some of the walk around grinders I know seem to have moved on. There will always be places for big MHBs and longer players but the days of finding decent plays in a casino are kinda over for me. It was fun when I took it up. There wasn't enough info but .. knowledge of such things grows exponentially. Tons of people have figured out and have an idea of what to look for. I'm more about making sure I can get invited back to these big local poker games. Working on my people skills. Crackin' jokes. Given the 2 times I've been in that game - it is readily better. Shocked you actually pay for insurance on a rental car, most major travel cards cover it. It’s one of the biggest scams out there but you still got a good deal.

The rental car -- my cards don't cover the insurance free any longer -- it broke my heart when Discover stopped doing it -- so I use the el cheapo Priceline option. The trick to Priceline is that you sign up with an options selection (Alamo, Dollar, and so on -- I don't use the discounters), and then they try to stick you with an electric car. I then say something like, "Great, well, I'm looking forward to the tutorial; hope I don't wreck it" when you get to the desk, and then the booth guy, who will be responsible for you learning how to use the thing, says, "Ummm, wait, I think we have a nice gasoline RV right here," and off you go. I wanted to ask you about the credit card option for rental car insurance -- my cards are not top-of-the-line; they are pretty ordinary with maybe 15K limits except for Discover, which had been my go-to card. But Discover dropped the insurance coverage. So what would you recommend? I'm probably going to qualify for almost any card right now, so I will follow your advice. I appreciate it. Yeah, I used cards for insurance coverage up until the pandemic started, then the peon cards dropped it for the most part, and Discover quit.

Two further comments: If you get out to South Point, they have decorated all of the trees surrounding the casino parking areas, so it's really quite old-school lovely. And the coffee is better than Dunkin' or Starbucks, at least for me. I think I had Circa donuts once -- not bad but not knocking my socks off.
