This game piqued my interest as we walked the floor of SP. I inserted two 20's to hit it. My question is "can Rising Rockets Empress be considered playable by AP's"?

Games like this one are traps for rec players and not to astute AP’s alike. This is the trend on the casino floor these days. The fake persistence games are all over the casino floor now. In the case of Rising Rockets, lights keep lighting up on the rockets as you spin until they are so bright you can’t ignore it. The growth of the lights is designed to deceive the player into thinking the machine is ripe to hit a bonus round. It’s meant to keep the player spinning because she thinks the machine is close to hitting.

But the odds of getting the bonus are the same on every spin. I was surprised that gaming allowed it. If you go into the rules screens you will usually find some small print buried somewhere that tells you it’s fake.

Best donuts I ever had was a place called the donut bar at 6th and Carson a block from El Cortez. There would be a line out the door in early mornings and they sold out about noon. Sadly the closed up last year.

Sold to Carl's Donuts, which is open there now. Have only had coffee there, so can't speak to the donuts. Gotta be better than pinkbox though.

Ok, we know that it doesn't represent exactly how close it is to hitting. Now let's take a deeper dive. Do the lights represent anything value-wise at all? Is it storing up bonus money somehow? Will your bonus round be better with fully lit-up Rockets?

No. But a game like Fu Dai Lian Lian, both Peacock and Tiger, have bags of coins that grow as you are playing. There are 5 levels to each bag. The odds of triggering a bag do not change as the bags grow. But triggering a bag when it's on the 5th level pays much better than if the bag is triggered when it's on levels 1 thru 4. This game can be exploited by playing only when the bags are high.

There are two more Fu Dai Lian Lian games, Panda and Dragon, that can't be played at advantage because triggering a bag pays the same no matter what level it's on.

The difference between Peacock/Tiger and Panda/Dragon is you can punch thru the bet levels on Peacock/Tiger and each bet level has it's own set of bags. It's what you have to do to find the advantage plays.

But on Panda/Dragon the bags are all the same size on every bet level. So you can build the bags betting low then max bet when the bags are high. Which is exactly what the designer of the game wishes you will do. Because there is no edge there.
They are fake persistence games.

A quick way to determine if a game may be exploitable is determining if each bet level has it's own independent set of bags. If that's the case you will see varying sizes of the bags as you punch thru the bet levels.

In this video all 3 bags are on the highest level, the jewelled level. The bags pay more when they are jewelled.

I am assuming the same Carl's Donuts that has a location on Sunset, across the street from Wayne Newton's former place. ahhh...they are/were nothing special. Definitely a step down from the Donut Bar. Donut Bar has oreo cookie donuts and birthday cake batter donuts. OMG!!! Just as well they are gone. Trying to eat less of that stuff.

It was a pit boss at El Cortez that told me about the Donut Bar.

I did see Fat Sal's sandwich shop on Fremont, across from Walgreens Today that I hadn't seen or noticed before. I don't get down to Fremont as often as I used to. Haven't looked at the menu, but first thought was do we really need a Fat Sal's in the same block as Heart attack Grill?

No smart ass. Angel was at Eastside Cannery. The pit guy at El Cortez, I can't remember his name, but we got along well. He was from Jersey and we talked sports. He looked like an old mobster, but was really a sweetheart of a guy. The first day I played after my second heart surgery, he welcomed me back and said something like, "let's just take it slow today". He was letting me know that he knew who I was, but still allowed me to play and was friendly. Co-existing type deal. Even when he backed me off which he did a number of times, it was the politest back off I ever received. He would say something like "I think that is enough for today". And sure enough next time I played, no issue. He sort of disappeared during the covid year. I hope he retired (he was about that age) rather than something happened to him.

And THAT is exactly how I have achieved such longevity in this town. You can co-exist, as long as you don't rock the boat too much and create problems that some of these guys have to answer for. It is all about finding and identifying what is and isn't tolerated. comfort levels. My brother plays slightly lower max bet than I used to when I played the local's circuit and he has had I think 2 backoffs in 9 years now.

And that is why I get a little annoyed at some clown claiming he wins all the time, playing these high limits, winning 10's of thousands of dollars each session, and playing for hours on end (with a huge spread). THAT is bullshit. Fantasy stuff. No casino, nor pit people would put up with that. If they did, they would be collecting unemployment.

Refresh my memory as to why I PMed you. I know I didn't do so out of the blue. You either contacted me first, or I think you may have made some statement about the ASM situation that I wanted to correct or clarify, but didn't want to do so publicly for reasons that should be obvious. So I PMed you and shared my experiences with the ASM.

But of the two of us, one of us went to the trouble and expense to get our hands on the model ASM, got it into our home, and had someone more technical than myself show me what it was capable of. But yea, you told the whole story of the rigged shuffler which you expounded later on to the point it was 100% clear at least a large portion of it was nonsense. I am NOT a slot player. Never claimed to be, nor claimed to be as smart as most AP's doing stuff like that. My lane is blackjack. And I think I have shared a lot of knowledge about blackjack and card counting. I mean there is nothing really new with blackjack and card counting. Occasionally some new variant or side bet you can attack, which I have, but I won't talk much about. So there is no new math to talk about with card counting. What there is....what card counting really is now, is finding ways to be able to keep playing, different techniques and twist, that allow you to keep being able to play. That is my expertise and that is what I have shared. It just so happens there are probably like 2 card counters on this forum.

And YES, MrV, I know he is trolling. That is all he is now. Unlike Dawg and Singer who were never anything but trolls seeking attention, AinQ started out being a normal decent poster. And some where along the line he went full blown troll on us. Maybe it is this forum that brings that out.

I'm here for a lot of reasons. Mostly to be entertained. If there was no trolling then perhaps this forum would have interesting discussions about LV. I'm doubtful. Perhaps.
