Thread: When do you want to hit a jackpot?

This is not for you "professionals" and "advantage players" because you have your own "way" of playing.

This question is for the rest of us: when do you want to hit a jackpot? Do you want to hit it at the start of your Vegas trip so you have money to burn, or do you want to hit it at tne end of your trip to make up for your losses?

If it's just a one-day jaunt to a casino I'd rather have it right away so I could have the chance to go home right then and there if I decided to do so. A Vegas trip? Would rather have it at the end and I would want some time to enjoy the sights for a while first and have a satisfying ending before leaving. I would be very tempted to spend it right away if I won early in Vegas.

I've hit royals right in the first couple minutes of a trip and I once had a royal when my entire trip bankroll was literally down to its last 5 credits. There is definitely a different "feel" to both of those instances. The former is like being a bit overwhelmed & shocked right away with the latter being a big sense of relief from a thousand little cuts (losing hands).

I always prefer it at the begin of my trip. I gives a great feeling that stays with me during the rest of the trip, win or lose. I have a daily gambling budget and there's only a few things that can happen to it:

    1) and the end of the day it's gone because I lost
    2) and the end of the day I have some left because the gambling was up and down. I turned tired and decided to quit. The money that's left goes into the safe in an envelop
    3) I had a winning day and I have more money in my pocket at the end of the day than I had in the morning. This money also goes into an envelop in the safe.

At the end of the trip (just before we head out to the airport) I check the content of the envelop and see how I did during this trip. So basically, I never change my gambling budget, win or lose. I consider the gambling money I bring lost so hitting a jackpot at the end of the trip doesn't feel like "making up for losses" to me.
