Thread: Why not play ACE$ BONUS POKER ??

  1. #1
Rob, a few weeks back you said you were playing ACE$ BONUS and got the quad aces in the correct order for a 4,000 coin payoff equal to a royal flush. You also made a comment that the APers would criticize you for playing this game.

Yet, when the ACE$ BONUS game has the same pay table as traditional 8/5 Bonus or 8/5 Aces and Faces, ACE$ BONUS gives you the added extra juice of 4,000 coins just for getting ACES in the correct order.

Given a traditional 8/5 Bonus Poker or 8/5 Aces and Faces Poker game, why not play ACE$ Bonus that also has the 8/5 pay table? Below is a photo of the ACE$ Bonus game with the same "full pay" pay table you'd find on regular, traditional Bonus Poker.

Yes you're right and I even wrote a column stating that exact point in the mid-2000's. You won't find the 8/5 paytable for both games at the same casino often, but they exist--and sometimes, surprisingly, even on the same machines. My article discussed the ones available at the Golden Nugget in downtown LV. All their bartops had them in quarters thru dollars.

I did spell ACES at Terribles in Pahrump this past year on a $2 machine. They have both games at 7/5 from 25c thru $2 on every bartop. I would NEVER play regular BP if the ACES BP game is on the same machine with the same paytable and in the same denomination as I play, and I never have.

Rob, now that I've actually played a session, a couple of questions:

Do you make any strategy adjustments when you have, for example, two pair including two aces in proper position to possibly spell ACES or SECA ?? Do you drop the second pair? When I played I had several hands were two aces were in position for the big jackpot and I dropped the second. What about when you have a full house with three aces in position?? Do you break up the full house? Seems to me this is a no-brainer with three out of four aces in position for the payoff the same as a royal that you would break up the full house.

First, it's not ACES or SECA; it's ACES- or -ACES. IE, you have to spell ACES with no spaces between any two aces.

The adjustments are what you deduced: in any two pair situation where you have two aces lined up for the kill, you always drop the 2nd pair (unless--and this is only when playing for a win goal in my strategies) the two pair attain a goal. And no matter what the paytable, you toss the FH when you have three aces lined up (with the same caveat as the two pair situation).

I recommend you play this game whenever you can except in 6/5 format. It's interesting, and you will have more than your share of close calls. It may also hit!

Wow, I didn't realize the word has to appear with no spaces. That makes it even tougher. But with the same paytable as a Bonus game, why not go for the bonus!

Now that I properly understand the game, I realize now that I sacrificed a couple of two-pair hands improperly.

It seems that very few people play the game at Rincon. When I was getting the pay on the quad aces, the three floor people who were there (it was early in the morning, and no one was playing in the high limit room) they kept saying "no kicker." Then I had to point out the pay table, and why there were "letters" on the Aces. They said they never saw it played before. I was on the bank of machines that also has the progressive, and even when I play my 8/5 Aces and Faces game on those machines everyone else is on the progressive game.

So you could call it a "hidden gem" at Rincon. I found the game on other Game King machines but to be honest I never saw anyone ever play it. Jason "found it" when he was just checking games and paytables some time back and told me about it. I've seen the icon on the screens but never bothered to check myself.

Understandable all around. Most people have no idea what the game means and that's why they don't bother with it. I used to see dozens of players at the bar in Terribles playing BP when the same pay table is offered on ACES BP, which is what they call it there and really, at most casinos in Nv.

Add mee to that list of players who had no idea what game that was or how it works. This game pays the same as a royal if you spell the aces word with no spaces? That's difficult enough to do with a random space, but no space? But if the game pays the same as regular bonuspoker, why not play it?

What if the fullhouse pays 7 for this fancy game and 8 for the regular game, is it worthwhile to play it then?

This ought to be interesting. Let's see how Robert Harry answers a math question.

Oh arc stop it. He had his full real name posted on his website videopokertruth.com for many years, and we all knew it from when he posted on LV A sports in 2005. You're just getting it now? How slow you are in a world of speedy information.

Jatki, the ACES BP game is only valid to play if the FH is either 8, or it's the same as the regular BP game if it's on the same machine.

You remember when my real name was posted on LVA. I remember that was also done by someone I was mocking and making look stupid--just like with arci here--so the guy (real name Paul Baker, who is now in that prison on the way up to Reno from LV for fraud & theft no less) put up info on my 1996 bankruptcy filing, because HE just couldn't take it any more either. People seem to do that when pushed too far and when they get frustrated. But that joke was on him because if you remember, I already had that info up on my site vptruth.com btw, since inception in 2000.

So just be aware that if you expose too many of arci's lies, if he ever knows your real name then expect the frustration to boil over at some point, and expect him to do searches on you too

Silly boy, I've known his name for years and he knows mine. Now, try to pay attention.

You know his and he knows yours. Then that's interesting, because I've never seen your real name posted in the many posts I've read. He's made you mad enough to feel posting his real name would somehow be bothersome to him, but he has never felt that you've earned him posting your real name.

    I think I know who's won this.

    Guess what? Wrong again.

Robert Harry posted my name (and address) at LVA. You are such a tool.

Yeah-I always laughed about those who couldn't or wouldn't just read this. The reason I remember it is because it inspired me-EVERYONE makes mistakes-but no one has to stay there and everyone can actually profit from them.

You'd have to show that which you may never do without some of that fancy editing of yours, just like you wouldn't provide any proof of your bogus claim on the slot card con baloney. But I'd say jatki made a very valid point, because he was obviously talking about the posts here as you know. So you can't even score a victory over him, except you win in the namecalling-out-of-frustration category!

The truly hilarious part, sling, is that Paul Baker actually ran a real life con, where he touted himself as an expert advantage player specializing in video poker, and he somehow gained the confidence of a dozen players who gave him their cash in the hopes of him turning big profits with it. He then spewed nonsense about buying gold and other precious metals at far below normal prices. Bottom line is, he never could make anything playing vp (which coincidentally was why he got so teed off at me, enough to do Internet searches on me that he thought would be a bother for me) and all he did was lose everyone's money or spend it on his new BMW, which is why he's in the big house today. This eerily compares to the arci situation, only as a timid geek he would never do anything that would land him behind bars.

I do recall the Paul Baker episode, and it was a doozy. The only thing is Rob, is that I heard he was out now and some LV A characters like Cutter and a few others are gunning for him.

But I didn't think to put arc's infamous 2+2 together. Baker said he was a successful ap when he really was a loser, and arc says he's a winning ap when you have to believe that's just another of his many lies, based on the big ones he tells here about Singer that I know are lies. At least arc is harmless by only boiling over on the Internet. I think Baker had one too many LV paper articles from Singer showing how much he'd just won. Arc just takes out his frustrations by either lying about Rob on the forums, or looking up his personal info and making something unflattering up about it. No wonder Rob laughs at him. We can all see who's won.

All the information I provided about Singer is available online to anyone who is curious. So, why would jatki choose to lie about the authenticity of that information. It appears jatki is just as big a liar as Singer.

Come one jatki, step up and prove me wrong. Show where I told a single lie about Singer. Why don't you provide the address of his mythical 4500 sqft residence. Why don't you show where the court records I showed are wrong. Come on, tool. Are you man enough? Oh wait, never mind. I already know the answer. The only thing we'll see from jatki is more lies.

  19. #19
Arci, the court record isn't wrong--I already said that it likely is true since we broke the lease to do the RVing. And it's the same place we always had for my son's wife and our other two grandchildren to stay long term while my son was in Iraq & Afghanistan. What jatki says you're trying to do is make up other things that aren't true about it. And he's right from how I see you reacting to my mocking of your home life. That's the only reason you bothered to get "curious" and spin the info. Heck, you can't even get the lies about my old house straight You both saw the videos I posted, and for some reason jatki understood them and you think they were another conspiracy theory against you similar to that stoopid vp.com thing you fouled up. I like how jatki mocked you about the pictures on the walls he saw including our wedding pic, and our little dog running around the house with me as I shot the videos. What'd I do, pay someone for all that too, just to get your goat?

This is yet another reason why when my wife and I go out to dinner tonight, I can think of how it's something you'll never enjoy again with yours, and I can laugh out loud about it!

  20. #20
Still waiting for you to provide the address of your 4500 sqft residence. ......... tick, tock.

You decided to make this personal. You chose to continue to attack my wife. So be it. I let it slide for years but finally decided it was time to check out your stories. I spent all of $1.95 to access your personal history. Anyone can do it. Just go to beenverified.com and check it out. It took about one hour to review the material.

Everything I said can be verified by anyone. There is no other residence associated with Robert or his wife. It correctly shows his bankruptcy and the lien I mentioned. It also shows all of his residences for the last 20 years. All are either apartments or that small home in Scottsdale.

So, it has been proven that Singer has lied for years about his life. There is little doubt that a person living in a 800 sqft 1 bdr apartment is not bringing in 6 figures every year. The man is just one lying machine.

    QED.
