Thread: Harrah's Rincon gets a new gas station plaza

  1. #1
On the California Casinos News page I wrote about the new gas station plaza at Harrah's Rincon Casino. See http://www.alanbestbuys.com/id104.html This certainly makes driving to Rincon more convenient and eliminates the need to make stops at Pala or in Temecula.

    What took them so long?

I also mentioned the gas station situation involving the drive to Vegas from the L.A. and the Baker "gas trap."

We always make a stop in Victorville or Barstow to avoid buying gas in Baker, and we always fill up in Vegas before the ride home to take advantage of the much lower pump prices in Vegas.

Several of the "truck stops" have even better gas prices than what the "major brand" stations have near the outlet malls in Barstow.

It always makes sense for the casinos to offer "gas promotions" including gas rebates when gas prices go higher. Hopefully, pump prices will ease now that the summer season is behind us.

It is a nice place. I was there not too long ago, but the beer prices are really high. Still, it makes sense to buy beer there rather than paying $4 a drink in the casino. BTW, Alan I thought I heard your voice doing an ad for, was a Jewelry place?, on KFI yesterday. Do you do voice work?

bigfoot... yes, Kevin Jewelers hired me to do their radio and TV commercials in California, Arizona and Nevada. Below is a photo of the TV commercial shoot. Ironically, the ad agency tried to use the same audio from the TV shoot for their radio commercials, but it didn't "work" on radio. Radio requires higher quality audio than TV, so I had to re-record the radio spots in a studio later.
