Thread: Do you have a gaming piggy bank?

  1. #1
When I took up playing VP in 2004, I hit 2 royals and then after treating myself to a large screen TV, the remainder was seed money for my gaming budget. Since then, I've added to it through winnings and my "allowance" (both the wife & I have a small amount of money to spend at our own discretion from our household budget) and on occasion, I've also taken money from it for non-gaming expenditures. This seems to keep my gaming grounded and under control. What works for the rest of you?

Good job, and good planning. No one can fault you for designating a portion of your disposable income for casino play, and you should be commended for converting casino "wins" into a consumer purchase such as a big screen TV.

I've known gamblers who literally did have a piggy bank for gambling and would trot into a casino and go right to the change booth and emptied out their bucket of quarters and dimes and nickels for cash. But the Ticket-In, Ticket-Out machines did away with the coin booths, and the coin sorter machines.

I've also known bigger gamblers who use a different kind of "discipline" for their gambling budgets -- when their "marker limit" is exhausted, they're finished.
