Thread: Casino cheater is sentenced

    The article is void of details (for good reason) but it would be interesting to read exactly what the Justice Department knew about their procedures involving transmitters and software.

    Here is the CNBC episode of American Greed:



    This TV show spelled it out clearly. It was really an inside job because dealers were in on it. And at the end of the show you find out that even casino pit bosses were in on it. Fascinating story.

    I have never closely watched a live shuffle before, or when dealers "wash" the cards. Mostly because I play at tables with an automatic shuffler. But sometimes the automatic shuffler is broken -- and next time that happens I am going to watch the hand shuffle more carefully.

    When the hand shuffle is used to replace the automatic shuffler, only one deck of cards is used. So I wonder if the shuffling technique used in the video and in this particular scam would also apply to live poker games?
