Thread: Golf Futures

  1. #61
On hiatus until the British Open.

Anyone following this thread and betting either the futures or the fantasy recommendations has made money. Not easy to do. Hopefully some enterprising souls have bet both.

The impetus for this column was my winning a future earlier this season with Hovland at 60-something to 1 that put me back into the black lifetime betting golf futures. I thought I'd take up the challenge and share the potential wealth even though I know nada about golf. The PGA/LIV split in personnel and Scheffler's current dominance have created a context where some bargains can be discerned vis-a-vis futures. No two golfers should be black-holing PGA futures money like Scheffler and McIlroy. And someone like Schauffele, who I wanted to take, has odds so low that he is undoable. Value lies elsewhere, with numbers unaffected by the gravitational pull of the top players.

That's it. Hope you made some pocket change. The British Open will be the wrap-up.

Let's be clear here. The sports "tout", who ONLY bets college football, where he claims his expertise (53% winning picks or break even), is now betting Golf and recommending others do so as well?

    Degen-Dietz!

Something is seriously wrong with you.

Yeah, I'm a real degen. I'm betting 1/40th on golf futures what I bet on a regular college football game, which I stated. So the sum total of all golf wagers for the year adds up to about half of one normal college football wager.

And I'm ahead lifetime betting golf. And I'm ahead this year betting golf. And I'm ahead on this site betting golf. And I'll pass a polygraph regarding the last three statements in case you want to wager a few shekels on a polygraph outcome.

Seems like everyone benefits from these posts except the dude who multiple posters have identified as a male prostitute.

Just for the record, Todd, the fact you allow kewlJ's post above to stand is the reason this will be my last post. I promised I would report my British Open conclusions, so I will do so right now. If you want a lying clown who multiple people have identified as a male hooker to dictate content, have at it.

Without further ado, here's what I did with the British Open.

First, the fantasy lineups. I skipped Scheffler because he is outrageously expensive. Scheffler, as great as he is, is 13.9K, which is 2K more than McIlroy. Rahm is third at 11,600. So I skipped both Scheffler and McIlroy, which may be a recipe for fantasy disaster. But Scheffler costs too much and McIlroy just went tooth-and-nail at the Scottish Open, and I hate to take golfers who were all out the previous week. So my teams are dotted with Rahm and Schauffele and Koepka, and I filled in around them. I basically split up DeChambeau and Lowry. I will consider an additional team with both DeChambeau and Lowry on it.

In dinner-money wagers, I went with some real long-ass longshots. I have Cantlay at 80-1, Koepka at 65 1/3 to 1, and Cam Smith at 110-1. Smith has all kinds of physical issues, but the man won this tournament a couple of years ago, and I am willing to throw a dart in his honor.

That's it. I'm still available and ready to rock on PFA and have other broadcasts in the chute. Over and out.

Dietz!! In the very same breath that you called me a lying clown, you made reference to me being a male hooker, not once but twice! Who is the lying clown, Dietz?

Not sure what you are so upset about as you were a sports tout. You, yourself posted the damn website from your "integrity" tout service.

If in fact this is your last post (which I doubt), I won't miss you and your arrogant, thinking you are btter than everyone else attitude. Have a good life.
