Here is the thing in a nutshell about people like blackhole (originator of this thread) and Rob Singer, now his number 1 supporter. Both non-blackjack players, or at least non AP blackjack players, look at it and say, how can someone succeed at card counting in this day and age. Well they are partially correct. Card counting successfully isn't about learning how to count. That is extremely easy. Couple weeks practice at home is all it takes. The real trick is something Stanford Wong said several times is learning how to get apply it and be welcome back to play.
Any player sitting down and playing a play-all approach playing several hours, speading and then retreating from higher bets at the shuffle, will be identified as a card counter. Low limit often still allowed to play but higher end of a spread reaching over $100 may be told they can't play.
My answer to not play for hours but play short sessions that are better tolerated, not play all but to exit negative counts, which plays into short sessions and to identify and play levels that are tolerated. These things will keep your wins (and losses) smaler at each location and avoid most issus. And these things are an ongoing evaluation process. You continue to learn from every situation. That is what successful card counting is, the application, not counting +1, -1.
These non players with an agenda to discredit, can and will never grasp that. They just do their troll thing.
Now I am off to work.
