ATLANTIC CITY — One of the most consequential debates in the gambling world right now is whether internet betting will eventually replace in-person gambling, or whether the two can be harmonized.
Many casinos firmly believe the answer is that both can coexist within the same company.
The latest example of this effort is underway at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, where a new baccarat game lets people physically inside the casino play with gamblers betting online.
Borgata says it is the first dual-play baccarat game serving a licensed gambling jurisdiction in the U.S.
“Dual Play Baccarat is one of the best ways to bring the excitement of live table games to our online casino players,” said Oliver Bartlett, BetMGM’s vice president of gaming product and content.
"This dynamic addition bridges the energy of our casino floor with the convenience of online play, offering players an immersive and seamless way to engage with one of their favorite games," said James Bruno, Borgata's vice president of casino operations.
Last August, Borgata launched Dual Play Roulette on its premises and online. Since then, it has been one of Borgata’s most popular table games "and continues to deliver impressive numbers online," the company said.
