Good morning and happy thanksgiving to most. This post will probably not be interesting to many. But it is to me and I want to share it.

I recently read that Blackjack legend Tommy Hyland has over 100 entries in OSN, that is the database used in Las Vegas and other jurisdictions but heavily used in Vegas. I found this number astonishing! So I asked my friend in the industry if he could confirm that without too much trouble. He couldn't as his access only goes back about 4-5 years. He thinks there is probably a way to access the entries from earlier years but he doesn't have access to it. Ok. So in the last 5 years there are 16 Tommy entries. Again that is an astonishing number. We are talking entries in OSN, not backoff or barings!

For reference, I know I have had 5 in my 16 years. 5.5 sort of because one was updated with new information at one point. As a player with focus on longevity, I have always tried to minimize backoffs and most certainly entries in the databases. Tommy and his crew seem to play a little differently. Aggressively,. Get the money at all costs. I used to call this "slash & burn", because you were burning your bridges in exchange for getting as much money as you could in the moment. Tommy is/has proven that wrong. He isn't burning bridges. He just keeps going like the energizer bunny regardless of OSN entries.

Now I have developed a theory over the years that to survive OSN entries all a player really has to do is take a short break, and wait for that entry to fall down the list a bit, off the first page. That might be days. That might be weeks. However long it takes for some newer players to get busted. Because casinos personnel that go to the database are 1) usually looking for someone specific and 2) only scroll through the most recent entries. They don't scroll pages and pages unless looking for someone specific. I think Tommy's situation with so many entries kind of proves that theory.

I have a golden rule that you don't want to be the biggest bettor at the table. And now I will add to that you don't want to be the freshest entry in OSN. Mark these as the first 2 of KJs survival/longevity rules.

The haters will come up with something about me stealing this info from somewhere, or whatever they tell themselves to convince themselves that I am not knowledgeable and can't be the AP that I am. Whatever works for you....boys!

Oh, one other thing. I am in OSN 5 times (5.5 if you count the update). Someone like Tommy is in 100 times I guess, although all can't be confirmed. Any REAL AP or player that wins will get backoffs and eventually be placed in OSN. There is NO avoiding it.

And yet, we have a guy on this forum (and WoV) claiming to have won 10's of millions of dollars playing blackjack and other table games over the past 7-8, while playing rated, and there is no hint of him by name, description, in OSN. Things that make you say hummm.

    Again, happy Thanksgiving fellas.

The insecure little man that posts as Mdawg is no longer worth of that handle. From this point forward he will be known as "turtle" in reference to his insecurity and small dick that accompanies such insecure, little men.
