Okay hardcore liberal accountinquestion, you want to get nit picky about what each of us are saying. What about your quote above? No one has ever said the flag itself gives anybody freedom. What everybody has said is the American flag is a symbol of freedom! Why? Because it represents a country that stands for freedom. America is why slavery doesn't exist in the world today (for the most part). Before America, slavery was everywhere in the world, and in almost every country.

So when people see the American flag, they are proud of it since it represents freedom, it represents the greatest country ever, and a country that brought a new standard to the world. It's not utopia, but it's pretty close. The flag represents people have rights that can't be trampled on by the government.

If you don't like American, give me an example of one country that is better. And it can't be a country that followed the model of America.

The good news is we still have some freedom here, unless your hardcore liberal buddies get in office and continue to take away our freedom.
