Then we’re on the same page. In my next of the woods, I haven’t heard or seen APs being illegally detained, I haven’t seen cheating by casinos, I haven’t seen casinos not honor promotions, and I haven’t seen them pull dirty tricks. I don’t live in Vegas, but I have been there a couple times, and I was treated great by all casinos and throughly enjoyed my times there.
I’m not saying it doesn’t happen because I’m sure it does. But I think it’s the exception rather than the rule.
Casinos are like any other business, they aren’t perfect...they make mistakes. There’s bad apples in every industry, including casinos. But it’s been my experience most the time they try to do the right thing, and I have been backed off a couple times. Most were pleasent backoffs, but I’m not a high stakes player.
Since full time APs pretty much live in casinos they are going to have more experience in casinos, and I’m sure some aren’t going to be good. I do believe they concentrate too much on the exception rather than the rule. Remember, casinos weren’t built with APs as their target customer.
It’s just like people at any company. You have some that constantly complain no matter what a company does, and many times they are right. But life isn’t perfect, and no company or industry is prefect. It’s a lot easier to focus on the bad than the good. And that’s what people tend to do.
Casinos bring a lot of enjoyment to people’s lives too. For the most part APs don’t like to acknowledge that fact.
