A Hangman's Noose generally has 6 to 8 coils. The noose in question has seven coils by my count. The circumference of the noose may be small but the symbol is there.

It is not he size of he emblem, it is the memory of the image.
A hangmans knot has 7 loops.

I think the knot that made the noose famous contained 13 loops and sometimes 2 more were thrown in for big people. The additional wraps were supposedly to lessen the chance of slippage. I always thought the 13 was superstitious.
Does seem to be a bad choice of knot for a door pull.
