I've lived in those types of places/rooms in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Most of them have either been condemned or tore down
Shower/Bathroom at the end of the hall and it was a luxury if you had a sink in your room.
Reminds me of the scene from the Hustler when Eddie is renting a room for a buck and half by the night!
If things got really bad you would have to opt for the locker that cost only 3 dollars a week.
Oddly enough that is another scene from the Hustler as Eddie is living in a locker at the Bus Station.
In those days I always found that a Gym Membership was invaluable.
Those were the days they were moving away from monthly cash and forced members to have a bank account or credit card.
In 1999 you could actually play as "The Driver" on the Play Station.
They copied the Garage Scene... too bad they didn't use that beautiful Orange Mercedes!
