Ozzy,
You're missing the value of the site back then. For those of who spent serious time in LV, when comp priorities of the casinos were changing quickly, people like Alan and other semi-high CET rollers were able to provide a footing for how comp systems worked and cross-sections of what doing various types of wagering could get you. For me, it was really helpful because these folks were able to lay out what betting at video poker or craps could get you at various properties.
At one time, when I began, sports comps and race comps were virtually identical. Then people actually did analyses and sports comps were cut to half race comps. Then cut in half again. Then reduced further at places like the Wynn. So to maintain any comps, sports bettors had to educate themselves on AP-type plays and get a sense of what provided what kinds of comps. In that sense, sports bettors started doing what kewlJ has been doing. Small-scale (compared to main gig) AP-ing to keep comps flowing.
This site was good for that.
