I didn't get on it when the meters broke.
I have been on banks that have had stuck meters though.
I played that DW Progressive at the Nugget for awhile.
We used to play it when the numbers got up.
One day they decided to move the bank.
I want to say it was a 5 way progressive.
Might of been 6 way.
Doesn't really matter.
The point is, when they moved it and turned it back on it reset incorrectly.
Turned out it became a 5% winner.
The meters weren't stuck they were set incorrectly.
I played it for 3 weeks straight crushing it.
I feel like that was the summer of 2005 but I might have my wires crossed and it was 2006.
Certainly in that time frame.
Probably was 2006.
I'd have to look at some records/paperwork to pinpoint the exact month but why bother?
One night I hit 6 sets of deuces and 2 royals for a 3300 win.
I beat it for about 12 grand total as I was actually employed at the time so I couldn't pound it as hard.
I would literally fall asleep while playing at the machine lol.
One weekend some Golden Nugget Tournament came to town.
A couple pros found the machine a bit too late.
I overheard them saying we stay on this bank till they throw us off.
I laughed internally to myself.
A couple hours later two suits were behind me.
One said to the other... that bank is a 5% winner.
The next day, when I came in, it was fixed.
Guess those guys didn't get to play it for very long.
Not many people knew or cared about it as I played it alone for many hours late at night.
Nice Run while it lasted.
Decent Card and Mailer from that play.
The Nugget was good even before that time.
They had a bunch of full pay stuff with a .67 card and mail.
Funny that during that deuce bank situation they had a 10 play 10/7 Double Bonus Quarter game too.
It didn't last long either as they were cut, cut, cutting that joint to what it is today.

That was around the same time that Binions put back some FPDW for awhile.
Older quarter machines that would drop coins.
Still Full Pay though.
I crushed those too.
I want to say 3 machine bank by the elevators to go up to the Steak House.
I can't remember for sure but I recall at least 3 machines because I played with my pal and his gal.
I haven't talked to my pal for 4 years now.
Miss him as I consider him a brother.
I guess families do break up.
She couldn't hack it and finally had enough moving to Baltimore of all places to deal poker at some new Casino.
Not sure how that is working out these days lol.
She was a Snotty Yenta anyways.

Interesting Notes:
I never knew about this paper or website.
I didn't know about VPFree for a long time after its inception.
I either found stuff from scouting or from the grapevine.
I've found that things like VPFree don't show me anything I don't already know about.
I used to like to look at VPFree and wonder why they didn't list everything.
Not that I wouldn't like these tools but the grapevine or word of mouth is much more efficient.
Terrific stories Monet (and in the Newell thread no less). Multi-hand +EV VP (ten hand 10/7 db) even for a short time is a lot of fun I would imagine.
