Like you wrote - very realistic. Loved the mid 70's Reno stuff near the end especially. Elliott Gould would later go on to do the Ocean's 11 and up as you know - I guess he likes roles in movies that have gambling in them.
That ending with the poker game and run at the tables was great to watch.

You probably already seen it.
Purists hate it but I think it is really good.
I don't even care about the storyline so much.
I just find it very entertaining because it is basically a whole movie of Elliott Gould being Elliott Gould.
Ironically, it is another Robert Altman Movie.
Hard to go wrong with his movies.
