Well, I guess you do not want to go back, look up the poster's AKA on this forum, and PM him. That would be easy enough. I'm not going to post somebody's actual name who is playing serious blackjack. So why don't you go look up the handle -- I told you where to find it -- and PM him?
I never said "I don't like Moses' sports opinions." What I said was that if you don't think moses' sports betting credibility affects his blackjack credibility, more power to you. It's kind of the same thing with man about town Rob. If you don't think his "selling the Newell to the Israelis in a week" affects his double up bug credibility, good for you. One doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the other.
But I hesitate to think what you might say regarding my sports betting credibility when I mention that I dated Raquel Welch back in my youth, and when I hit middle age, I turned down Elizabeth Hurley several times. One has nothing to do with the other, right?
Hey, mickey, were you in this place? I was mesmerized. The machines all looked 80 years old to me. Some had paper rolls and stuff. It felt a little like LV's Wild Wild West but with a 1950's vibe. I wish I had had more time. I would have crashed nearby and hung out for a day or two.
I'm surprised they got clobbered. It looks like the kind of place that if you try to walk out the door with 10K of theirs, somebody will tail you. And if you try to walk with 50K, the place would transform into the Titty Twister and you'd be buried out back.
Just to address this issue. Moses claims to be be a professional sportsbettor and blackjack player for 30 years in Reno. Most professional blackjack players look at Moses claim and are perplexed becaause 1) it is Reno and hard to get any real money down at blackjack for long and 2) his methods and things he talks about are unlike anything any other player does. Example: yesterday he spoke of putting his max bet out after 11 small cards and 1 large card were seen. That is a true count of +10....in a single deck game. That would be better than a 5% advantage and that advantage and count rarely occurs. For measure most blackjack players place their max bet at a truvc count of about +4. This is roughly a 2% advantage. At times on a mediocre game I even go +3 to compensate. Waiting any longer than +4 is just a waste. That max bet just isn't going to do you much good as you will rarely get it out.
There are other things he says (even yesterday) that are bonkers like winning 60% of his max bets. But I really don't want to get into all that again.
BUT just as professional blackjack players look at Moses blackjack commenst and scratch their head, I think redietz and other professional sportshandicappers read his sports betting comments and have doubts. That is not for me to say his strategy works or not as I am not a professional sportsbettor. I'll let them form an opinion.
I especially like kew's fantasy about obtaining mortgages with "+EV" and with no verifiable income . No financial institution with credible professionals employed would even consider somebody who comes in with no GUARANTEED income.
You should have thought that lie out a little better kew. And it's no wonder you never provide proof of anything because then your weak house of cards would come tumbling down.
Ok, I will. Few non blackjack players like you know this, but in a normal off the top of shuffle blackjack game with a house edge of roughly .5%, a player will win 43% of hands, loses 49% and push 8% (roughly). So Even when the counts goes positive to say true count +4, playing with about a 2% advantage, those percentages only move slightly. The player will win just slightly more and most the difference is just slightly more blackjacks @ 150% payoff (will also fair slightly better with double downs, but the blackjack are the main thing). That is all it takes to flip the game from a slight casino advantage to slight player advantage.
So at no time will a player be winning more than 45% of rounds longterm. At NO advantage achievable from card counting. So for someone to say they win 60% of their max bets is...well bonkers. Simply not the way it works.
I will also say this: You guys invoking and prevoking Moses to run a one sided simutaneous discussion at WoV, of which the other members have no clue what he is talking about, will likely result in him being suspended when Wizard returns, as I beleive that is against the rules. I am sure you don't care, nor do I, and maybe Moses doesn't either. But if he wants to participate in this discussion on THIS forum, perhaps he should apply for re-instatement. I won't stand in the way, if he promises to knock off the physical threats and stalking stuff.
Haven't we been throught this already? Singer obviously knows nothing about this situation. Singer was sooo sure he was right that he created a sockpuppet, Girlfriday or FridayGirl, posing as a real estate agent to dispute. And Yes, dan Druff verified this Singer sockpuppet.
I have received not 1, but 2 different mortgages on differet properties as a professional AP. Here's the thing about so called Guaranteed income. What is guaranteed? The guy working a 150k job could be fired tomorrow? The self employed person running a business could go out of business next month.
I had to show multiple years tax returns. And for the second mortgage, one of those years was a very down year, 27k blackjack income, 48k total AP income. (there was also an above average year I beleive). If you can show consistant income, and paying taxes does indeed show that, you have sufficient history, just as any other income. Especially in this town. But hey, lets see what GirlFriday has to say?
And now I am going to respond directly to Moses. I don't know what you are doing in reno, or how you have survived, but do not sell your house and move to Vegas. Anything you might be doing that works will NOT translate to Las vegas and Vegas will eat you alive.
I honestly don't mean that as a putdown. It takes a special mindset to play Vegas blackjack via card counting. 2 words: Huge variance (and swings). You don't have that. We already have a card counter.....the greatest there ever was, who struggles with relatively mild swings and variance...thinking everyone is cheating him and out to get him. We don't need another.
Have a mortgage? Singer is basically homeless, mooching off his kids. At this point he probably can't even rent a decent place.
By the way, housing prices (including condo) have soared in vegas, as I guess everywhere else. The same condo that my brother and I own, but a floor below sold for a 70% increase over what we paid just a few years ago. I have been thinking we should sell. But then what do you do. Buying another place, you pay just as much more and I don't want to rent, plus rents have gone up too I beleive. Plus my brother loves this place and this kind of living. But you see these numbers and you feel like you should lock in a profit.
I am not against you Moses. I am not trying to start anything with you. If what you are doing works for you and your unique situation of Reno and single deck, God bless.
It is Blackhole and Singer that have latched on to and are baiting you. Of course neither knows a damn thing about blackjack, let alone blackjack card counting and advantage play.
I often am tempted to sell off my stocks / mutual funds now as the market has done spectacularly well of late, but then I'd have cash earning maybe a fraction of one percent in the bank.Originally Posted by kewlJ

I don't know who that is. Sounds like a made up character in a made up James Bond thriller.
And yes, of ALL the quirky and odd things and rules about Shackleford. You can say you don't beleive someone. But if you say "fiction" or making it up or sometimes even if that person complains about you saying you don't beleive, the great and powerful one decides that is calling someone a liar and suspendable offense. There is zero difference in saying you don't believe someone and "fiction" or making stuff up. The rules on that forum are a constant moving target.

Well specific to the Las Vegas housing market there is another issue looming as far as longterm prices and that is the looming water situation. Las Vegas is supposed to get 4.5 inches of rain a year. We have just barely hit that one year in my time here. Most years are now about 2 and a half. They say a 20 year drought. At what point does it stop being a drought and become the new normal.
Lake mead is at it's lowest level and can no longer sustain Nevada, Utah, California, Arizona and Mexico water needs. Nevada, Arizona, Utah begin 20% reduction in 2022, 6 months away. California the following year. (not sure about Mexico). So is life here sustainable? And if not, sitting on real estate doesn't seem a smart move.
Real estate markets can surprise you.
Here in Portland house prices are still soaring, notwithstanding all the negative publicity caused by the Calamity Kids of BLM and antifa.
What, is the rest of America so unattractive that Portland still looks good, "warts and all?"

I don't feel like reading this whole thread but read Blackhole's first post and all I will say is the following.
Blackhole is a walking living case of Dunning–Kruger. I know he's not the first on gambling boards, but he really has no idea how stupid he is.
As far as Kewlj I don't know. His story is a bit shady to me but I don't care and others have no problems with him. If he is lying about who he is then that is a really good catfish and my hats off to him. WGAF?
