I await your comments, but I’ll add a question for you to answer if you want to.

In my experience, money is loaned out in the gambling community often. However in every case I was involved in you knew the individual personally and have met them in person, along with knowing personal information about them. And in most cases you consider them “friends” or acquaintances, at least until an issues comes up with getting the money back.

In this case the person asking reached out to random people they have never met and know nothing about. Totally different situation in my mind. No different than someone walking randomly up to you in a casino.

Your thoughts on that difference?
Yeah, I wasn't talking about that whole thing where you loan somebody money temporarily knowing they have it in the bank or wherever and just don't have it available to them right now. I really don't consider that a loan, I guess technically it is. I was mainly talking about people who are short on cash until they get paid, don't have a big enough bankroll for something, or whatever the f***.

I would say for the most part you are correct and I have met them at least one time but there have been occasions where that's not the case.

And of course, I think it's totally different, at a minimum it's super tacky to be asking a bunch of people you don't really know on forums to borrow money as she did. Oddly enough, given a small amount, I actually think she's good for it. That's more than you can say about a lot of people, obviously, that's a low bar.

Of course, I wouldn't assume or expect to get it back all at once on time if we're talking more than fifty bucks. And I'm certainly not suggesting anyone take a chance.
