Your question was as follows...
The question assumes facts not in evidence...that there were no consequences to the employees who leaked the info.
You also apparently assume facts not in evidence here...
Are you assuming that they did not investigate, discover and punish those who leaked?
MisterV heading down the rabbit hole with coach belly. Don't do it V. You know the old saying.
Never wrestle with a pig. You just get dirty and the pig enjoys it.
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
Funny stuff.
I wasn't going to say anything but just look at the title of this thread. Totally unrepresentative of what was said. Nowhere did I say anything about MGM or casino executive, in their official capacity doing anything.
The stinky belly guy is just a nut.

I defer to MisterV if he speaks to the contrary as he is an attorney and I am not---but I believe that MGM would have difficulty (even IF there was, in theory, an otherwise legally actionable position) demonstrating that they incurred damages as a result of KewlJ's posting. KewlJ also made his post on a non-profit (no advertising) website that he doesn't own anyway, so MGM cannot prove that KewlJ benefitted in any way (financially) from making his post.
Anyway, please don't see this post as taking sides. I care just as much about the whole MDawg thing now as I did three months ago-which is very close to zero. I am neither richer nor poorer for any of this. It's entertaining reading, on rare occasion.
tewlj didn't specify "hosts"...he claimed "friends in high places at MGM".
But hosts are considered executives, don't cha know...
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

I'm certainly not an expert in this area, but were KJ to publish documents and confidential info received from casino employees about douchedawg then the following might happen:
The casino could seek an injunction / restraining order against KJ from posting further info, and as part of the process I suspect they could take his deposition and ask him the name of his casino sources so they could be fired / disciplined; I'm unclear as to whether damages would be awarded.
The problem would be the dawg himself suing KJ; what cause of action could he plead?
It isn't defamatory, at least not that I see: probably the tort of outrage would be a legal theory; he might also sue the casinos for releasing the info, claiming perhaps breach of contract.
Regardless, can you imagine the glee he'd have in suing KJ?
He would subpoena Dan Druff and / or his forum hosting service to make them cough up KJ's identifying info so that a lawsuit could then be personally served on him.
Not a pleasant prospect, one which due to the dawg's act of contrition will never transpire.
What, Me Worry?
Exactly! what damages would this fool have? He tells this "story" that he has now admitted was a lie on multiple forums and he claims to play rated, meaning he isn't hiding who he is from casinos.
The only damages I can see is his inability to continue to tell his lie of a fairytale.
Now if you want to talk damages, someone doxxed me on that forum that he posts at today, a supposedly new member, posted my name and an address. It has since been removed, but as a player who plays anonymously, this could have REAL damages in loss of income.
I think we all know who was behind this. I spoke to Bob N about it this morning. He said we could go after the website in question, force them to disclose if it was who we think and then pursue that person, who happens to have deep pockets for potential loss of income. Still considering what to do.
What says you to that, smelly belly, esquire.
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
And by the way, the publishing documents is quite different than revealing what is in them. This is exactly why I never posted or published the documents of the information I had on Singer.

All you legal beagles are a bunch of idiots......lol
Do you really think there is a record of access to player accounts? Coach is the biggest tard the internet has ever known.
KJ:
Yes, attorney Bob N most certainly can file suit against "John Doe," subpoena Dan's hosting service and thus learn the identity of the doxxer.
Not saying you shouldn't go down that road, KJ, but as they say: "Know your adversary."
If in fact the doxxer was the dawg, remember he is an attorney who seems to hate you and could probably tie you up in expensive litigation; there's lots of tricks lawyers can pull to make litigation very expensive.
Of greater concern might be the issue of damages.
Yes, you are an AP flying under the radar, but since you don't use a card I question how the casinos would learn your identity, unless a photo is posted / provided to them.
I suspect that a casino might somehow be able to acquire your photo via investigation, but would they want to spend the time and money?
A viable plan of action might be to wait and see if the doxxing causes you any difficulties plying your trade: if so, then yeah, lawyer up, but go into it with your eyes (and wallet, unless Bob will take it on a contingent fee basis, which I doubt) wide open.
What, Me Worry?
MisterV, casinos have photos and info on players regardless of playing rated or unrated. There is a whole database industry supplying that information to the casino industry. I am surprised you aren't aware of that.
I don't want to litigate my case or options here, but if I find out definitively that the person I believe is behind it, what I want to do is pursue it through the California bar association and try to get his license suspended. Cost him income, as he attempted to do to me.
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
Get real dude. Have you not followed recent congressional hearing concerning facebook and other social media? These platforms are not responsible for what is posted, unless it is something obviously illegal and they took no action to remove it.
Seriously you are just making shit up. Barking at the vacuum cleaner.

Oh look, V decided to play internet lawyer today, that’s cute...
