I looked this up. This seems to have actually been a result of both Maddow saying this on March 29 and Maddow interviewing Dr. Rochelle Walensky, who said this (of our CDC, of course). The reporting of this is March 30, with a reference to it having been said Tuesday, which is that date.

Maddow and Walensky are engaged in propaganda here. Maddow should have been less arrogant about declaring things, and Walensky should have been savvy enough to anticipate variants eventually finding ways around the vaccine's initial effectiveness, which happened in a couple of months.

Really, very irresponsible, bordering on criminal. And certainly there should be civil liability, because at any given time, variants exist in real time in the population to which what the CDC expert said does not apply. So even in the case of the CDC expert being correct for 90% of the population, that left a huge chunk for which it was irresponsible.

As I say often in the "Propaganda Files," institutions do not have the right to lie to you to get what they deem is an optimal result in service of the "greater good."
