Thread: Short term vs long term and quitting while ahead (continued)

Kewlj let me enlighten you. When I started this forum it was an investment for me and my website partners... this used to be part of our website... a website we sold for six figures and I gave the forum to Dan at no charge.

As part of my responsibility I was constantly on this site participating with the goal of driving traffic.

Unfortunately the bad drove out the good.

I wasn't posting all those thousands of posts to entertain you. I did it for business. There was no hypocrisy.

    Really?

Where / when did you report it?

Shocking that Caesars did not report this to the media, given all the positive attention Demauros roll got Borgata (and craps in general).

While not as unlikely as 18 yo's in a row, beating Demauro's Borgata record ain't chopped liver.

Oh, for those who understand math: the odds of someone throwing 154 times before rolling a seven is reported as being 1.56 trillion to one; the Wiz calculates the odds of rolling 18 yo's in a row at being much, much higher...so high as to dwell in the Land That Math Forgot.

Look, we can say pretty much whatever we want on these forums; some of us prefer truth, some just like to cause consternation and hoopla; up to the viewer to pick up and examine each road apple, I mean each pearl of wisdom posted here and then decide for himself.

Going down memory lane ain't so bad provided the road leads somewhere worth getting to.
I reported it on my noon news segment on KCAL TV. I had a daily 7 minute segment. I frequently mentioned Gaming developments, even covering the GGE.

Yeah, enlighten me Alan. When did you "give" the forum to dan? You haven't owned it in the time I have been here (2016), so what is your excuse for the last 6 years? It wasn't business.

Look, it is all good Alan. So some of us like to post on forums in our spare time. YOU are part of that club! It's just hypocritical for you to be lecturing the rest of us. Lighten up.

You mentioned 18,000 posts Kewlj. Why dont you chart out how many posts were made when I owned the forum and how many posts since?

And dont forget the two years or so I didnt post here at all.

You like to deal with minutiae. Just like the bozo who wants proof that I interviewed four presidents.

    LOL

In honor of "googling expertise," I just googled "Bob Dietz and Alan Mendelson." What popped up was "The Bob Dietz Quitting When Ahead System."

So, using google as evidence of reality, I guess Alan and I are joined at the hip for all eternity. No mention of presidents, though.

Full disclosure: I read the first google entry. That was it. Kind of limits my credibility, eh?

None of it matters Alan. You are getting all worked up over nothing.

Really, all this bad blood boils down to one simple thing. Alan, and a few others like coach belly and Rob Singer, like to constantly promote things that are billions (with a B) or trillion (with a T) to one possibility, happen, can happen, did happen and they saw it, or played it.

And yet in the same breath, any claim supported by math, by any player playing by the math, they challenge. These few people living in some alternative universe, seem to have distain for the mathematics and those who live, play and win by it, yet ridiculously want us all to believe in these trillion to one things that they witnessed or played.

It is simply a case of reality vs some alternative / want to be reality.

    OK, thanks for that.

Gotta say though, I am surprised it didn't get picked up and make the national news as it is a significant, newsworthy event.

    Really?

What's news is a hot topic of debate. Imagine all the hungry people in the US. Shouldn't that be on tonight's news?

Janet cant get leukemia treatment in Nevada and must go out of state. Isnt that news?

The constant homeless problem. Isnt that news?

And you think someone playing craps is national news? LOL

    What's next? Counting two tables?

The shooter may have hit some 7's on come out rolls. So saying he went 154 rolls before rolling a 7 may not be accurate.

Proving my point. Your distain for AP's and players that play and win by the math.

Why wouldn't a player that plays 25, 30, 40 hours a week, counting cards, be able to count down two (or more) tables at once using a simple level 1 count?

There are two parts to this. The first part is the logistics and I clearly said "when conditions are right", something you people always ignore. And as a side note, conditions are worse and worse post-covid. Part of that is just fewer traditional blackjack tables, and part is a concerted effort by the casino industry to eliminate or move low limit players (and tables) to those stadium type arrangements that can have one dealer dealing to 50 or more players, which forces more crowded conditions at the fewer regular tables.

The second part is the actual act. You people want to believe that a player that tracks cards via a simple level 1 count, can't track two separate actions (tables) for a brief period of time until he can determine which is the better opportunity, which is usually only a few rounds, (team spotters track as many as half dozen games at once, looking for the best opportunity). BUT YET, you want to believe all the billion and trillion to 1 nonsense that you believe. You guys are really out there.

Whatever, but Demauro's roll was noticed and became national news; one might think that someone eclipsing that roll would be equally newsworthy.

What is this about Janet not being able to get leukemia treatment in Nevada?

Is it a health coverage / insurance issue or [shudder] lack of treatment facilities in Las Vegas?

What trillion-to-one thing did I claim to have witnessed or played?

You just cannot stop lying...how many lies are contained in your 7000 posts?

I'm estimating 3 or 4 thousand lies, since many posts contain multiple lies.

Here's another often-repeated lie that you posted again just 2 days ago...

But I have to add this is a boring city. Everything seems to close at 7pm.

No gambling here. But I'm sure you knew that. But there are billboards for Nevada casinos, and we found that unusual for an area that is so opposed to gambling.
The cops hassle the homeless in SLC. And they moved the shelter from downtown to way out of town to hide the homeless from national and international visitors during the 2002 winter olympics. It's still out there.

And there are five casinos on I-80 at West Wendover 110 miles west of salt lake city just inside the Nevada state line. The 3 Peppermill casinos, Peppermill, Rainbow and Montego Bay. The Red Garter, known by the locals as the Red Gutter. Then the Wendover Nugget.

I still stop into Wendover occasionally. You'd probably like the Peppermill casinos.

It's a flat curveless drive from SLC to West Wendover. The speed limit in 80 MPH so it don't take long to get there from SLC.

Kewlj you started this thread. You cant help yourself.

MisterV there is no treatment in the state of Nevada that allows for a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. Anyone wanting that option must go out of state.

Chemo is available in Nevada but that's it.

In her case chemo and bone marrow transplants have both failed.

This is very bad news on several levels.

What a final ordeal to have to go through...when my mom passed she was able to do so in the comfort of her own home, with her bed positioned to allow her to view the lake she so loved; poor Janet is in a hospital environment far from home.

All we can do is just suck it up and move on.

Yeah, I have to agree with Alan. LOL. Is this how people decide what's real? They type a couple words into google and believe that's "research?" What the flying fuck? Are the younger generations really this narcissistic, lazy, and stupid?

You can tell none of the youngsters knows what journalism's about or how to do basic research. I pity the youngsters in academia. They must think that no studies were done before 1995 or something like that.

It's so naive, it's unbelievable. There's this narcissism to it. If typing a couple words yields no results, the "researcher" thinks he's done due diligence. The theory is that everybody wants to be on YouTube, so if googling yields nothing, it must not exist.

The accompanying consequence is that, since everyone can google, everyone's an expert. On everything. LOL. The person doing the googling is not the center of the universe. Google is not God.

And Alan did the interviews. So the fact that he did the interviews completely debunks this particular way of evaluating what's real.

There's also this lazy component to it. When someone says, "I googled it and found nothing," do they really mean they googled and read 500 pages of results and found nothing, or do they mean they googled two or three pages and found nothing?

This way of evaluating the world is just so lazy and childish. Hint: if you want to know something about somebody, google, then make some phone calls. Take notes. Do follow-ups. Send emails. Cross-reference different experts or witnesses. There's some brilliant out-of-the-box ideas, eh?

I didn't say I was doing research - I didn't say I was an expert - I didn't say you could find everything out on google - I invited to him to show documentation which must be there - further, I stated that I would apologize if I was proven wrong -

apologizing, I would be willing to bet, is something you've never done in your whole life

your post was typical of you - haughty and condescending

Half Smoke, you did nothing wrong going to google to try and find corroboration of a claim.

No reason for you to catch flak over doing so; the internet is designed for just that purpose, i.e. the gathering and sharing of information.
