If you don't make the wager, good for you. You know when you're beat.
What claim have I made that I'm wrong about? I'm just doing what you can't bring yourself to do. Asking fair and unbiased questions. Did you say you were a journalism major?
Yeah, the guy asking fair and unbiased questions has yet to ask Rob any questions. I'm not going to address Rob. But mickey never asked Rob any of the painfully obvious stuff. Like:

    1) What the hell were you thinking to arrive that early?
    2) What the hell were you thinking to leave before the scheduled meeting?
    3) What the hell were you thinking to not provide shots of you at South Point or some kind of video?
    4) How is your son allegedly being with you at 10 AM and allegedly being drunk making any sense whatsoever?
    5) Who was your son drinking with and why, if the meeting was at noon?
    6) What happened to the money allegedly stashed with Nersesian?
    7) Kewl said he called Nersesian. Rob, if I call Nersesian, what will he tell me about your escrow?
    8) How likely do you think it is that someone like Bob Dancer would not have heard about your 1.5 million jackpot being hit?
    9) Why would you sign an NDA and then blab about the jackpot on line? What is the purpose of that?
    10) Why have just one photo of the jackpot? And why would you not be in it?

That took me roughly five minutes to write these down. Mickey has not asked Rob one of them. The whole thing is asinine.

So now the fair and balanced dude will respond by doing what? Asking the questions? Coming up with additional questions? Or ignoring how ridiculous he sounds because he doesn't ask Rob any questions?

Can you imagine mickey on GWAE fielding these questions?

The whole thing is beyond stupid. If it's supposedly wrong that I'm not asking Max for proof he was there, how completely horrendously stupid is it for mickey to pretend he's fair and unbiased? It's gotta be a joke.

Mickey, it's embarrassing to engage with you. Nobody should. I'm done. Write your Brokeback essays and nonsense. For years, I have not said a single negative thing about your personal history or hobo this or penny ante that. Not once. I have always defended your authentic life. Every time.

And the first thing you went for when I laid out my journalism and reporting experience was that I "washed out of journalism." That was your first and only response to the fact I had a decent idea what I was talking about. The fair and unbiased dude. And you were completely dead wrong, but the fair and unbiased dude didn't even acknowledge that he was completely wrong.

    Pathetic. Have a good life.

Imagine being Robert A. Nersesian and having to deal with a bunch of lunatics calling him about a dispute from VegasCasinoTalk.

Or Dancer. Being decent enough to answer me regarding whether he'd heard through any grapevine about a 1.6 million hit recently. This does not reflect well on Witteles, for sure. We may be lunatics, but Witteles allows this crap.

Oh I see, your secret mission has always been to destroy this site and Dan Druff.
    Well Played.
Thanks a lot as I look forward to Dan Druff's MLB picks.
Oh well, you will never destroy his Poker Fraud Site, I think.
    lol at "Poker Fraud."

What really bothers me is where to put the quotations.
    Before or after the period?
    Ugh!

Monet, the period goes after, unless the phrase is a full sentence. Ask any English teacher. Besides, it just looks stupid, the way that you did it above.

I agree that it does look stupid.
Over the years I have seen conflicting information.
I guess I got it wrong and misunderstood.
    Sorry.

I have to disagree here. If you are using American English, as opposed to British (English) English, the period goes inside the quotation marks.

The following is from Grammarly.com but if you google the rule is pretty clear.

Do commas and periods go inside or outside quotation marks?
Commas and periods always go inside the quotation marks in American English; dashes, colons, and semicolons almost always go outside the quotation marks; question marks and exclamation marks sometimes go inside, sometimes stay outside.

In British English it is the opposite with some exceptions. Garnabby--if you are in Canada I am not sure which would be correct but I assume your way would be correct.

    OOOPS--didn't see Monet response above.

    Like I said... confusing.
I always thought it was how Garnabby stated as he punished me with his insults.
However, years ago when I started to research it, it appeared that the quotes almost always went after the period or comma.
So I started to do it like that but like Granabby said, it looks stupid but whatever, lol.
As I previously stated, its a conflict between the British way and the American way to do it.

    British vs. American English

There are many differences between British and American punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Neither version is more correct than the other; which version you should use just depends on who your primary audience is. Here are some of the most common differences between British and American academic English.
    'do it.'"

Commas and Periods Within Quotation Marks

British English puts commas and periods (full stops) outside the quotation marks unless the quotation is also a complete sentence or the punctuation is part of the quotation.

The UWSC says that British people write it "this way".

American English puts commas and periods inside the quotation marks.

The UWSC says that American people write it "this way."

When it comes to other punctuation, both versions write it similarly. Colons and semicolons go outside quotation marks, and exclamation points and question marks depend on whether they're part of the quote or the sentence as a whole.
The way I figure it is that a word that is emphasized or whatever by quotation marks can be shifted throughout a sentence from its start to its end. Then there is no reason to punctuate it in a different way. A comma, or period, in the quotation marks can't change the emphasis or whatever, and, to shift the quotation marks past the end of the sentence, to include the period or whatever, neither, makes much sense.

I was kind of "tongue in cheek" with the remark to ask any English teacher about it. It's one of the never-ending arguments about the language.

Here is one question about it at an English forum. Yargs is one of the top experts there.
