Vegas and most all casinos are a complete rip-off for the civilian players. Why should I waste my hard earned money flying there only to (most likely) lose? I can just stay home and play every single casino game, slots/vp and table games at home FOR FREE!!

A lot of advantage gamblers can't stay out of action when there aren't any advantage plays available. They bust out just like the squares. I will say that there are some decent-ish places like Harrah's center strip which are fairly cheap.
The gaming today is FAR worse than in the past. There didn't use to be 6:5 BJ, triple zero roulette, or casinos without a single 99% pay VP machine.

- mid level comped liquor for even the average floor player. Now, be careful what you ask for, you probably won't get it.

After I click submit, I'll think of three more. And prior to the recession it was even better.
Our 25 year monthly visits are becoming quarterly and we are monthly at our more local casino, which treats us well.

My first stays at MGM were comped, as were the meals.
After several trips over the years their generosity dried up, enough that it wasn't worth staying there to me any more, given my other options.
Now for giving the casino a bit less action than I had in sin city I usually can get my room and meals comped at my go-to tribal joint, where I park for free and play the same games I'd play in LV.
Oh, I'll return soon to LV as I lke it, it's different, but the old girl ain't what she used to be.
