The IRS won't get off the dime. Over 45 years ago they set the jackpot threshold on slots at $1200. Factoring in inflation the number should be $6000 today. It's a bipartisan issue to get the threshold raised but everyone knows how greedy the IRS is.
Light & Wonder, formerly Scientific Games, has come up with an ingenius way to allow jackpots above the $1200 threshold while avoiding W2-G's. It's probably the wave of the future.
Light & Wonder slots in the casinos have the Bally's and WMS logos on them.
