I can see the humor style similarities with Napoleon Dynamite that you mentioned - also similarities to School of Rock which was also written by Mike White as mentioned in the Nacho Libre Special Features you linked to; and Mike White's Orange County as well.

Tenacious D Pick of Destiny was really funny (different writer and humor style) - but I saw it so many years ago that I don't remember it as clearly as I wish I did.
