And here's the ad for this year's event:

Mickey, you didn't post this ironically, did you?

Do you know how oxymoronic it is for people to charge $350 for a seminar where "striving amateurs" get "unparalleled opportunities to learn sharp-betting secrets from winners and insiders"? Holy hell, that's bad ad copy. You have to ask yourself, why would people speak at such a thing?

C'mon, man. There have been seminars like this for both sports and race (more for race, actually) going back 50 years. Let me know if Billy Walters is attending.

Attending this thing isn't a mark of savvy. And being on the speakers' list isn't exactly a great thing, either, depending on the topics you cover.

Now Roxy (I love how people use the short informal version, like "Vegas,") is great, but I suspect I know a little more about "Roxy" than you do. And my better half knows a helluva lot more about Roxy and his personal history than you do. Luck of the draw -- some folks hang out in the same places and all that.

Mickey -- if you think I should be attending this event, I have news for you. I should not. Seriously. Now if you think attending this is a mark of expertise, how about giving a paper at the National Conference on Gambling and Risk-Taking, and then fielding questions after the paper and at a cocktail party afterwards and then having the paper published in the proceedings? If you consider waxing eloquent at this to be a big deal, how about holding forth at an actual vetted conference?

I can't believe you are asking if I am attending this. Jesus, man. Wake up and smell the coffee and all that. I have always avoided this kind of thing like the plague. What's funny is that I remember about 10 years ago, the person in charge of a 50K a game cartel in LV heard Person B ask me if I wanted to attend a session of something similar to this. After Person B left, the cartel manager asked me "Weren't you offended by that? Doesn't he know who you are?"
Well, I thought you might like to go to Bet Bash to meet your betters, er, bettors. Oops!
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

I have no idea why people would speak at such a thing. But Roxy could answer that question for you.

As they say on ESPN, c'mon, man!

And I'm actually a Spanky fan now that I saw his reaction to being limited. He sounds like us here in IntegritySports-ville.

You know what we used to do to just as a way to be pains-in-the-ass? Just to be maroons? If we were in town for something like March Madness, we'd pick some Godforsaken longshot and one of us would go to a window and try to bet a couple hundred. Inevitably, the window person would have to say, "Key!" and then get a manager. In the meantime, the person at the window would berate the sports book, "Caesars' Palace!?! This is Caesars Palace and you need to check to take $300 on Belmont? What's the matter with you? Thirty years ago, they'd hand us a wheelbarrow to bet this!" Then the manager would come and limit the bet and the bettor would shake his head and comment some more.

And then two minutes later, one of us would go to another window and try to make a similar bet on the same team. And berate them some more.

Just to be asses. And to point out, over and over, that the proper response to trying to bet Belmont at 1000-1 isn't "Key!" but "Sir, how much do you want to bet? Do you need a wheelbarrow? A truck?"

I could be wrong, but I think Spanky would be the kind of guy who would get a kick out of doing that with us..
I would get a kick out of watching you guys bend over and get pegged with a strap on while you watch Kewj baby bro bounce on his lap. That’s seems about what you do

No, Seed, what we do is things like lay -124 with Seattle on the ML in the XFL, which I reported on this forum as soon as I did it on 2/27. Now check out the ML.

You know, it's funny. The four things I reported on this forum in the last six months and recommended people do -- well, the football futures, depending on when you hedged, either won, lost, or washed a unit or so. Everything else, the bulk baseball betting last summer (+7 1/2 to 8 1/2 units depending on line), the bulk road favorite NBA recommendations for a few days, or this XFL ML, all solid profits with no sweating involved. Did anyone notice? Of course not. You have idiot trolls populating this place. And that doesn't include my recommendations for the WagerBacks at NorthBet, which by the way likely got me banned from WagerBacks at Northbet.

And what recommendations lost? Well, none, really. How about that?

No, don't thank me. We weirdos like to give away money. It's what we handicappers do.
Link to the post, please. At the time did you explain why there was value in those bets?

There was value in Seattle ML (-124) because I thought there was value. The line had to move. It was an inappropriate ML. The line wasn't going the other way.

You've gotta be kidding; did I explain why I thought there was value? Well, to be honest, I actually did say why I thought there was value in most of these. I normally don't. I mean, why would I? But when it's sports I know nothing about, like the baseball wagers, I explained why I thought there was value. Now if it's a sport I know something about, I'll never actually explain why there's value.

Provide links? Go do some research. Not my fault you don't follow along. I can see why parlay calculators are something in the AP toolkit. You guys are generally lazy sonufabitches.

Oh....BTW....did I mention that Richard Munchkin will be one of the celebrities at this year's Bet Bash? And that Bob and Richard will shortly be doing a podcast dedicated to this year's Bet Bash.

Dude, you really know how to step in it. ROTFLMAO!!

Have you contacted Bob and Richard yet? In sending your post I asked Bob and Richard the same question. Waiting for responses from you guys.
Things like the Bet Bash are ways to allow sports bettors to wash last year's taste out of their mouths and charge forward with alleged new angles and strategies enroute to riches. The Bet Bash looks like a step more involved than the Pre-SuperBook Contest shindig that's been around for a decade or more, with seminar events and a golf tournament. I'm not saying people can't learn anything at these things. It's just that, if you know what you're doing, why would you go?

Why do people attend these things?

    1) Hope springs eternal. Convince yourself you'll do better than before because you've learned so very, very much.
    2) Rub shoulders with names.
    3) Learn the latest fashionable jargon.
    4) Swag.

Honestly, I cannot knock swag. Swag is a good reason. Plus the SuperBook shindig raffles off some contest entries. Maybe this one will, also.

Race betting seminars have been held for decades at Boyd properties and elsewhere before all of the World Championship events. Sports betting promotional events like this are rarer. To be honest, Roxborough gives this thing some class, but mickey, do you have any idea what Roxborough was doing from 2000 to a few years ago?

Your insecurity shines through. But I can't blame you. Bragging about all the famous sportsbettors you supposedly know....but then when I mention Spanky you called him "an anonymous cute nickname." It don't get any dumber than that.

My point in asking you about Bet Bash was the "anonymous cute nickname," Spanky, is host of this year's event. He's just one of the most famous sportsbettors in America. He's been banned from every major sportsbook in the world. YOU, REDIETZ, SAID YOU KNOW ALL THE FAMOUS SPORTSBETTORS, BUT WHEN I MENTION SPANKY'S NAME YOU HAD NO CLUE WHO HE WAS! WTF?

What is also stupid, ditz, is you think you have to explain to me what Bet Bash is all about. Bet Bash is about some famous sportsbettors/handicappers/bookies making a big score by putting on a "seminar for the suckers." Besides the $350 charge per sucker there's no telling what all the casinos are giving those guys for bringing all that sucker business in. Wise up.

Easy to tell why Ditz won't be going to Bet Bash. While all the suckers will be clamoring to shake hands with Spanky, Ditz will be be fielding all the "who the fuck are you" questions.

If we a pitched into a kitty to get an entry fee would you go, redietz?
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

  11. #191
Red's getting ripped apart by common sense non-professionals right here. Why would he ever want to face the pros? Hell, he can't even muster up the courage to do a few rounds on GWAE!

It's obvious redietz realizes he took a wrong at the start of all this, and rather than walking down a road called Dignity Ave., he chose to douse himself in kerosene before smoking one of his joints.

Just as with kew when he constantly makes a fool of himself, watching red get lost in his own maze has a ton of entertainment value, ie., EV.

  12. #192
Redietz is like Rocky but with absolutely 0 chance of a comeback.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

  13. #193
    Awww, I like redietz.
He and his Slant Eyed Gook Mistress can slurp noodles with me anytime!

  14. #194
Redietz can do a 3.50 aka 99% off only fans betting seminar. Will NOT be for suckers.. instead it will be aimed at the value conscious market.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

If the lines fucked up or there's something screwy, then I understand why there's value. I was just asking if you explained WHY there was value in whatever bets you were talking about. Of course, I don't read every post. I asked you for a link since it would stand to reason you would have a better idea than me since you're the one who posted it. I was curious to see what we missed and if it's something with clear value.

I know known gamblers and sites like the LVA guys are now getting kickbacks on affiliate deals from US sports books. That's way better than all the other BS.

    9) Featured every week in Marc Lawrence's PlayBook newsletter, available nationally on newsstands for more than a decade.
    10) Winner of Heritage Sports' Race to the Super Bowl.
