    Attempted clarification by example:
Suppose the Grateful Dead are playing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A large group of people (aka, the audience) who have tickets to this concert play slots in the MGM Grand casino before the concert and/or after the concert and some of them leave plays. For example, this no brainer play on Tiki Fortune (not mine, I took this one from the net) that is impossible to lose money on that a Rihanna attendee might leave. The two lists shown in the first post of this thread rank the attendees of various bands/acts (please keep in mind that these audiences are not necessarily mutually exclusive) by their conjectured propensities (by conjectured I mean fabricated for humor purposes) to leave advantage plays like the Tiki Fortune example.

    Suppose Jerry Garcia hadn't died.

The Dead haven't played together since then, their last show was on July 9, 1995.

I was going by this (aside from the fact that I stated plainly in the first post that it was a total fabrication):

    You mean "Dead and Company."

Promoters may stupidly bill it as the Grateful Dead but that's a lie.

Note in the first post in this thread that number 1 is listed as Grateful Dead, not The Grateful Dead. I then refer in my clarification example to the band the Grateful Dead, not The Grateful Dead.
For whatever reason, the promoters make a distinction between Dead and Company and The Grateful Dead (probably because The Grateful Dead and Grateful Dead are different bands - in any case I already stated in the first post that it was a total fabrication and the Grateful Dead as a clarification example was presented as a supposition;thus the usage of the word suppose):

    Fabrication be damned.

Twice you listed the Grateful Dead, and they haven't existed for decades.

Not trying to bust your balls, just clarifying.

That's correct, I listed the "Grateful Dead". Not the "The Grateful Dead". Furthermore, I stated that it was a total fabrication and you can dismiss that, but that statement is present whether you do so or not. Also, in this post, https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...l=1#post155631 you will see that The Grateful Dead (August 18th 2021) and Grateful Dead (December 29th 2022) are listed in separate appearances. Whatever the makeup of these bands' cast members are - the statement stands (in jest, as the thread was meant to be comedic) that the audience who watches these persons have the greatest propensity of leaving plays - it matters not if Jerry Garcia is dead;that group of people who witnessed this band (who doesn't have the original band members in it) have the greatest propensity to leave plays. It's all moot of course since I gave a warning that it was total fabrication.

The only real grateful dead fan I know is a successful IP attorney. The burnouts selling grilled cheese in the parking lot probably don't have the money to see the show let alone gamble. Bad read.

Yeah the tie-died shirt folks with dreadlocks leaving one and dones all over the place that I later saw chilling with their feet hanging out in a Volkswagen Van (circa '68) painted dead-head style as I was leaving were probably just posers. Regardless, the thread was meant in jest.

If it wasn't serious then why are you taking it seriously? I wish dead related bands performed at a casino I frequent.

Dreadlocks and the 68 vw van... funny never see that either. Well into their 60s with dreadlocks. These people must only exist in Cali.

Or returning from Burning Man through Northern Nevada a couple years back. You said it was a bad read - so I'm giving you an example of what lead to the bad read.

Don't take yourself so seriously. Still caught up on 2 words 2 posts back.

This bitterness must come from some underlying trauma.

Says the person who gets anal to the point of calling a bad read on a jest first post in this thread. Now the humor in this thread is coming from how pathetic you are.

Yes, you're now referring to irrelevant things in other threads. Yes, not pathetic.

I'm the anal one, the one taking this thread so seriously, AND I am the pathetic one here.

Yes 100%. You wouldn't have tried to get after me over a bad read if you weren't taking the content seriously and were taking the two ranking lists as the jokes they are.

Coach, what TP is talking about is the overall knowledge of a crowd of slot players. In TP's pic I quickly recognized that columns 2, 3, and 4 are going to turn wild on the next spin and the next two spins after that, plus there are multipliers involved. I can't remember how many lines on a Tiki Fortune but every line is going to pay for at least a 4 in a Row and possibly some 5 in a Rows. It's a 75 cent bet, but with all those wilds and multipliers the next 3 spins are going to pay probably more than $100. There is no way to lose on the next 3 spins.

Are their gamblers dumb enough to walk off and leave a machine in that state? It's rare to find a play as juicy as the one in the pic but there are gamblers dumb enough to walk off and leave a machine in that state. The dumber the slot players the more money the slot pro makes.

My experience is the dumbest slot players are out on New Year's Eve weekend.

Challenge to redietz. We bet every NFL regular season game. You make the picks. If you lay the fav I get 2 extra points. If you take the dog I get a 2 point discount. Easy pickings for you.

Ditto (thanks for the nice explanation for Coach and others who might be unfamiliar BTW). What a fun week between just before Christmas and NYE weekend in terms of picking off lots of no-brainers. Just before Thanksgiving through the weekend that follows isn't too bad either as you would probably agree.

Joking has a lot of nuance. I'm not sure I took it seriously even if I responded seriously? Mainly I was just being defensive lol. If I had to listen to one band for the rest of my life it'd be the dead. Was never a deadhead and Jerry was gone by the time I started to like them so never saw him as part of it. I KNOW my response wasn't particularly humorous.

You are such a weirdo. One of the greats. Thats why I love this place. Gives me perspective.

You are still stuck on the words "bad read". I feel like those 2 words should be disallowed for not being fair-play when going at it with you. Wind you up like a Singer to a Kewl with those 2 magic words.

Anyway, I'd stop being defensive and just realize this thread was fail going off your original intent. Half the people don't even know what your autistic ass means by "persistent state plays". I gave you input and have learned myself. Will never use those 2 magic words.

    Good read.
