I went to Rincon last night to take advantage of some free play and brought home a $950 profit on the evening thanks to some quads at video poker.
But at Rincon I like to play their low stakes craps game. Because it is low stakes and they have the "Fire Bet" it becomes a fun game.
Last night I experienced something for the first time: a shooter who stood his ground for the "same dice." Here's what happened.
A new shooter gets the dice and establishes a point of 9. On the second throw the shooter threw one die off the table and he immediately called "same dice" indicating he wanted to throw the same die and he wanted that die returned to him.
The die hit a player in the chest at the end of the table but then the die disappeared. We looked for the die. Everyone looked for the die: all the players, the floor people, (not the dealers, they had to watch the chips), even players at a nearby table looked for the die. But it was nowhere to be found.
"Same dice!" the shooter called.
After what seemed like two minutes (a long time not to have action at a craps table) a manager said to let the shooter choose new dice.
"NO," the shooter said. "Same dice. I want the same dice."
The search continued. Five minutes. Six minutes. Did someone kick the die and is it under the blackjack tables? Did it get kicked out the front door of the casino?
The manager said "we can't find it. You must choose new dice."
But the shooter would not roll a different die. He passed his turn to the next player who did pick two new dice, and then threw a seven-out.
