In his younger days Bernie praised the Soviet Union and communism. He has never understood human nature. In America we build walls to keep people from entering the country. The Soviet Union built walls to keep people from leaving the country.
I had to read about this a bit. I don't think capitalism is some great thing but it did increase the standard of living the quickest and across the board. Poor people would have been even poorer in other places.
I don't really defend everything about Bernie. I will say that I like his consistent anti-corporate views. Corporations and their control over elected officials is the greatest source of corruption. Bernie is pretty much the only one who stands against that. I guess AOC may but I don't pay much attention to her and probably others but none have the visibility and chance to win that Bernie Sanders would. Of course Democrats cheat him in primaries.
