Well, the Billy Walters book is out. I went to Amazon to get the kindle version but they don't have it. At least not for sale. You have to order the hard cover. It's a one week delivery and I'm on the road. I have to be where I can pick it up. I might have a copy by Sept 6.

But you can get a sample on Kindle. So I downloaded the sample. Did you know that Walters and Steve Wynn are mortal enemies? Walters said it started when he beat Wynn out of 3.6 million playing roulette. It seems Walters knows a lot about biased roulette wheels going back to the 80's. And he said Wynn stood in the way of him getting an early pardon.

He also threw Mickelson way under the bus. He said he has no respect for Mickelson or Wynn.

Now, for sports betting. Here's some quotes:

"I've been up since 4:30 AM double checking games....the games with odds to my liking are listed on a legal pad to my right along with corresponding power ratings. The greater the difference between my rating and the point spread, the more I'm going to bet."

"Betting sports is about one thing and one thing only: value."

About his power ratings he said "My expert analysts gather a thousand points of data and feed them into a computer programmed with proprietary algorithms and probability theories."

He said that things like weather and field conditions have to be factored in also. But it was pretty clear that power ratings from computer driven algorithms is his main gig.

He is big on value....as in....expected value. The bigger the edge he figures to have the more he bets.

Redietz needs to have a talk with Walters and tell him that analyzing statistics don't work in sports betting.
