I know I have at times said some nasty shit about Wizard. I like Michael Shackleford. I like his story, that he left the corporate working world to pursue his dream. And it worked out extremely well when he sold his business (website and forum) for a tidy sum. I think he was lucky in that regard, but still good for him.
The one thing I would like to know more about is his AP play before he sold his forum. Some of his haters call him a failed AP. I am quite sure he is not and they just have no idea what he did. He recently called himself a card counter for 37 years. That peeked my interest and I discussed it with him. I know he doesn't do much card counting any more. Who does? 15 years ago there were 100''s of card counters in Vegas, today it is a dozen? 20? I don't know I guess it depends on what stakes you are including.
BUT, Mike has really changed in the last 6-8 years. And that directly coincides with the time period of the sale of his business. he just doesn't seem to care anymore. Not about the math that he was always so passionate about. Wizard of 10-12 years ago, just never would have allowed this Mdawg shit to go down like this. He just wouldn't have.
And actually, that Wizard of 10-12 years ago duidn't let it go down with this same character...different name/handle.
