I used to be in Club Fortune and Eastside Cannery every day. Back then both of those places had check cashing promotions. Club Fortune you got up to $125 for each check cashed and Eastside was 5% on a check up to $1500.

Maxpen I am NOT going to keep repeating this. You have or are thinking of the wrong person! At East cannery, My Maxbet was always $200, $250 or $300. And even playing on late friday afternooins when the casino started to fill up. I was playing above their comfort level.

Unrelated, I hated those paycheck promotions that most of the local type casinos did. It was so damn predatory, enticing daddy to cash his paycheck at the casino and lose the rent and food money before he ever got home. I also hated the lines at the cashier, but there was an easy enough way around that....don't cash out until the next visit.
"Daddy" would have increased his income by going in with every paycheck and playing dollar 9/6 Jacks until he hit a 4 of a kind then cashing and leaving. Would have upped his income by $117 a week. It's a 5.5% edge when you are getting an extra 125 coins for the quad.

The casinos had to cut out the $5 video poker from those promotions because of big bankrolls, like axel for example, bankrolling working stiffs to come in, cash their paychecks, then play $5 video poker until they hit a quad. It was worth about $600 a play.
That was at other places other than the Pioneer if that's the location in Laughlin you were thinking about. There's been many like situations, I can't remember them all.
