I reported what I found when I googled "MI."

That "MI" stood for what you claim did not occur to me, nor did it appear when In googled the term.

You see, people in military intelligence typically are behind the lines and not in harm's way, ensconced in safe, secure locations, analyzing data, not on the front lines or behind enemy lines; were he an operative I should think he'd be a SEAL, perhaps DELTA, or with CIA and not just a weenie in military intelligence.

Given that, Robert's claim that he was being trained to kill in MI didn't resonate.

    As usual he was aggrandizing.himself.

James Bond is a British literary and film character. He is often depicted as a peerless spy, notorious womanizer, and masculine icon. He is also designated as agent 007 (always articulated as “double-oh-seven”) in the British Secret Intelligence Service, or MI6.

Thank you, garnabby; in that case, were Robert in His Majesty's Secret Service, would his number not be 009 1/2?

    OK.

Coach, try to follow me this time, 'K?

As best as I can discern from a lifetime of watching war movies and reading war novels and histories, people in military intelligence do not go out and kill people, that isn't their job.

Of course, as any soldier would they've had basic training but why would they need to have advanced training in killing, if they're typically in a safe location, away from battle?

I used the word "operative" to denote the folks who do go behind enemy lines and kill: in modern history some of them have been CIA and never military intelligence.

There, does that help center your confused mind?

But hey, you are curious and fucking love to quibble, so keep 'em coming.

Why?...for reasons you likely don't understand or haven't considered based on movies and novels.

Certainly because "typically" doesn't cover every circumstance that agents in training may encounter.

There, does that help enlighten your unacquainted mind?

Rob was an assassin for military intelligence.

He would sneak behind enemy lines and covertly infiltrate gambling dens frequented by high ranking enemy generals.

While pretending to employ a “quit while your ahead” strategy he would secretly smear a highly concerted form of hydrogen cyanide on the targets chips & then declare he was leaving as he was up for his session.

As the Asian woman said in the massage parlor: "There's the rub."

You are assuming that those in military intelligence are in training to be "agents:" that notion was not part of my analysis.

I concede that agents aka spies need advanced training in killing.

I do not agree that soldiers in military intelligence are in fact "agents;" oh there may be a few I suppose, on special detachment, but to think that the captain who helps the general plot enemy movements on a map is a trained spy and assassin is beyond stretching it.

Just noticed this idiotic post of UNKewlJ where he claimed that he used a micro cam to film enough to prove that it is possible to view multiple blackjack tables at once, but that he decided not to post it because someone viewing the posts might be able to identify him from the footage.

And yet this compulsive liar has now gone on and on for months giving more and more detail including the actual $300K settlement amount (notwithstanding that he has repeatedly stated that he is not allowed to disclose that amount) about a fictional backrooming incident where hundreds of thousands of dollars would be at risk (if any of this had actually happened) for disclosing what he claims he should not disclose - all because he is desperate to be believed.

I have to smile and do enjoy the comments here folks! But to keep the amusement on track--especially for V, who genuinely seems confused--here's some help. It probably won't resonate much but at least it'll provide me a chance to go down memory lane.

First, (and it may be somewhat different today) MI training starts right here in Az. at the Army's Ft. Huachuca. "Basic Training" for you draft dodgers. You do not learn to kill first here--its all about self-defense. After that, depending on your scores, the fun starts. You can simply accept an assignment, put in for assignments, quit the program, or apply for advanced study & training. I did well, so the DoD accepted my request for the Advanced Program and shipped my ass to Camp Peary, where I spent 8 months (2 in classrooms and 6 in brutal mental & physical training). You are fully trained in all aspects of survival (used) explosives (never used) sniper rifle use and spotting (never used) spoofing, and yes MrV, killing (used twice). And the mental training part of the program is not for those with any weaknesses upstairs. Period. This is where all CIA agents are trained. I was not a "spy".

My assignments were all overseas, in some of the world's biggest shitholes. I gathered intelligence, worked counter-intelligence, coordinated and planned, performed but did not lead interrogations, and supported CIA-led operations. And MrV, there was very little combat involved. When I was deployed it was with the understanding that my job was that of an MI Agent--not Officer. I qualified for this special program status working directly for the DoD, and I accepted it.

I lasted 10 years before I went into the private sector (aerospace). That was the requirement for the pension I wanted to secure. The unforeseen added plus at the time to all this was learning to keep fit both mentally and physically right on up thru today, at 74-1/2. I attribute my overall excellent fitness and continued sharp mental acuity as well as my success in respecting the woman I married--enuf to have just celebrated our 45 anniversary up in Colorado--to the extreme effort I put in as a young man in the program. I've had a very chaotic life up until I retired from career work at 50, which is why I've thoroughly enjoyed this online arguing, the two-way insults, and seeing how many of the little people respond to certain button-pushing. This is relaxing stuff for me.

I'm not your typical gambling forum rat, am I. But I've always enjoyed the white trash game of video poker. I love the hate. So lets have some! But I won't be responding. Spin it/twist it, make goofy comments. You guys do it to my realities all the time.

I think this actually checks out and makes a lot of sense.

Let's assume that everything Singer is saying above is true; we're looking at someone who participated in high-level interrogations of any number of people regarding any possible number of subjects.

Of course, the goal of an interrogation is to get to the truth of a particular event or thing. Well, sometimes you actually want them to lie...but only if you actually know the truth already. For every five questions you ask, there's only one answer of the five that you actually care about; the other four questions are designed to lead you into getting the answer to the fifth...whether it's trying to get someone to slip up, or to make them comfortable---I'd assume it depends on the situation. I actually read a lengthy book on this once, but it was a long-time ago so I don't remember the particulars.

Think about what Singer does on the forums. He doesn't interrogate, but his 'job,' if you will, is actually much easier than that. He's just looking to get people to interact with his posts, an endeavor at which he has succeeded for what...a decade? More than a decade?

I also consider his techniques when it comes to what he calls, 'Button-pushing," and yeah, some of his stuff is definitely designed just to get a response. I've said that a couple of times already, but now, the reason WHY Singer enjoys it makes absolute sense. I just couldn't figure out why he enjoys doing this before.

When it comes to Singer, you have to invert that line to read: We all know that you're not smart ... so why do you act smart?

They teach that telepathing from casino video poker machines as part of Rob's "Jason Bourne training". There was a scene in the movie of Bourne interacting with casino slot machines, but it ended up on the floor in the editing room.

Rob is the greatest. He stole a story from the news (and other AP's) with the double up play claim, and now he has stolen the story from the Jason Bourne movies.

Robert, if in fact your above post about your gov't service is correct then, seriously, I thank you for your service.

You use the term "draft dodger:" some dodged, but not me: I had always been college bound, and when Vietnam happened I had a 2-S college deferment, and by the time I graduated the fun was over.

While my little joke about "MI" being "Mission Impossible" fell upon deaf ears, it seems I was correct that your situation was not the norm for the average MI weenie; I said those on some form of "special detachment" would get the training and you confirmed this, saying that you applied and qualified for "advanced study and training."

Your next mission, Mr. Singer, should you decide to accept it, is to develop the modern day equivalent of a "cat's paw" to flense and debone the latest generation of slots. Good luck, Robert.
    What, Me Worry?

  20. #1300
The problem with Rob is that you see his stories and claims evolve over time. Changing stories, story lines, timeline and claims. Move this timeline around to make room for a new claim like the double up bug. And so on and so forth.

That was the gambling claims, but the same thing happened with all his story. Changing and evolving everything.

So Rob is 74 as he tells us. That would have him born in 1949. He would have been eligible for military duty during the late 60's during the Vietnam war. If Rob served I too thank him for his service. But he has told the forums (not recently) that he was in college at that time, naming two different colleges, one which has no record of someone with his name. The other didn't release that info. So there is a conflict in Rob's story and claims right there, not that it matters.

Now Rob told us that he was in the aerospace industry. he used this claim to tell us he and his wife made good money. That seems reasonable and possible. I don"t know and don't really care.

But at some point, Rob story evolved into some sort of Jason Bourne CIA operative thing. That point was probably just after he saw the Jason Bourne movies. I think this actually came about when Rob started claiming he knew everything about everyone because he has friends in the FBI, police and evolved to CIA and this stuff. Later this fit in with the mysterious Isreali (from CIA connection) that supposedly bought Rob's made up RV, site unseen from overseas.

It just grew more and more bizarre. I guess it was all just fun and games because everyone knew or certainly should have known and recognized the ever-changing goofiness.

If someone asked me what Rob's story really is here is what I would say. The guy maybe went to college, maybe didn't. He is not stupid. He worked some kind of job/career for most of his life. He was/is a gambler. A lifelong losing gambler. I will not say degenerate because to me that implies a person that is out of control to the point they can't pay their bils and stuff. I never got that feeling from Rob, although he does have bankruptcies and evictions in his history which is readily available because he more or less used his real name.

So sometime in the late 1990's, which would have put him at about 50, Rob got deeper into gambling. Trying his hand at advantage play because of people like Bob Dancer who Rob was reading on forums and such. Rob failed at advantage play by his own admission. And then all these stories and ridiculous claims started. One after another. Evolving claims, changing over time. I don't know if Rob left his job/career to pursue this gambling stuff, or took some time away or what. His wife still worked during that period.

And now Rob is in his 70's and retired. I assume he and his wife has decent retirement between social security and careers. There is no reason why they couldn't have their own home now, but they chose to bounce around between kids houses mixed in with lots of gambling trips. Just like most life-long gamblers, Rob still has that bug.

I would bet that is pretty close to Rob's real story. No successful progressive wagering system complete with 'special plays" No double up bug that he stole, No great sums of suitcases full of cash won from casinos. No Newell RV's. No CIA, Jason Bourne shit. Just a guy who worked a job/career that likes to gamble.
