I forgot most of it.
The only things I remember is Bruce Willis doing the 2000-dollar betting thing with shills all over town/online.
I sorta remember the ending.
I'd rate Two for the Money higher than this movie.
I still have never found a top tier sportsbook/wagering movie.
The Runner is still the best in the category IMO.
Plenty of great scenes, in other movies, like when James Caan is talking to M. Emmet Walsh at the bar during half time.
You had me geeked up for a second there.
I'll rewatch it later tonight just to make sure since it's free on YouTube.
Honestly, I enjoyed Fever Pitch 100x more than this movie.
That movie is super realistic and showcases how degenerates can go on a massive run from a couple of bucks.
Wish I could get that on DvD.
I feel fortunate to actually find it free online in the archives.
I hate when YouTube restricts a video like this...
Yes I also enjoyed Fever Pitch. I think what I really liked about Lay the Favorite was the funny dialog and all the truths inside the dialog. Another thing was the realistic portrayal that people have a lot of sides. For example Dink's wife came off as bitch at the beginning, but she turned out to be trooper as the movie progressed. Also the flippant way huge amounts of cash is thrown around in that world was fun to watch since that is actually how it goes down. Finally, I liked that they showed how things fall into place more easily for attractive women in the job market and other aspects.
