The first time I watched Vanishing Point I didn't like it.
I didn't understand it to be honest.
Later in life, it started to really hit home.
That movie along with DMCL has amazing footage/scenes that I took for granted for a long time.
I didn't realize how crazy you have to be to make movies like that.
Peter Fonda was driving 100+mph hour for real and the camera crew was going just as fast following him.
In Vanishing Point they made a lot of mistakes with the camera work.
But those mistakes were genius in that they gave us a feeling of actually going that fast and following along.
The stuntmen were unreal in those days and perfectly choreographed both movies.
And the helicopter pilot was one of a kind and did both movies creating some of the best footage ever filmed.
It's the WW2 and Vietnam Vet Era.
These guys had brass balls and nerves of steel.
That's why I hate when the kiddies trash the Boomers.
We basically owe the Boomers everything.
And stop lumping Gen X into the Baby Boomers!
I found out the other day that they made the FALL GUY into a movie.
It looks horrible.
I find it funny how big Lee Majors and how the Tik Tok Generation has no clue.
Dude was killing it on the Big Valley with Barbara Stanwyck before the 6 Million Dollar Man.
I watch a few episodes here and there and they still hold up IMO.
