This went over my head a bit.
I didn't realize he just died.
Even though I knew he was involved with Farrah Fawcett and basically caused the Lee Majors divorce, I glossed over it.
Sort of forgetting that it was him.
And I watched John McEnroe's documentary but glossed over him being married to Ryans daughter lol.
I'm usually quicker than this but I tend to not keep up with gossip.
Ryan didn't make a ton of movies but I enjoyed many that he made.
They seemed to give him the "dark side" characters, which most of the population doesn't relate to.
I watched him in Fever Pitch again since we were talking about it.
That movie is so spot on in capturing the ups and downs of degenerate gambling.
Those scenes inside the Bike and Casinos are so well done at showing how things really used to be.
That scene in the beginning with the cocktail waitress on the bed is amazing.
She really nails it talking about getting on a fever and cracking their walnuts.
That girl in Talladega Nights (Isla Fisher), must have watched it for research, because she does the same exact routine.
Talking about Nascar Racing instead of Gambling though.
I can't believe it took me almost 40 years to hear or know anything about it.
It really is a movie that only gamblers will like, relate to and understand.
Advantage Players are excluded as they will hate it like they hate James Caan in the Gambler.
They're Wrong.
Time to watch him in The Driver again.
Good Follow up after watching Vanishing Point and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry.
