They also withheld a good chunk of the money for taxes, which I actually didn't mind. Most years we were able to offset most machine play. It was a couple bigger payouts like this or one of several 5 figure contest and drawing wins, that would make that a little more difficult. So with a win this size, we wouldn't have attempted to offset all of it, so we would have owed a good chunk of tax at tax time. With them withholding, we offset as much as we could and then got back about half the amount withheld.
