Well, I think the main factors are it didn't get released very widely (I don't remember hearing about it back when it was released) and of course it has the same name as a few newer movies. The left over hard ten bet was probably a flaw they missed in editing (I didn't catch that mistake - thanks for pointing it out).

One of these movies you either get or you don't.
You'll either like it or won't even want to finish it.
I liked it and understood it right away.
Probably a combination of watching a lot of movies and I can relate to this movie from my own experiences and mental state.
I read a report that Jack bought the rights to the movie and refused to release it for about 30 years till around 2005.
I guess it is one of his favorite movies.
    I liked it.

The scene starting at 1:14:50 is pure genius.
Really gave me an off balanced sensation and I'm guessing that is what the movie is all about.
    Putting the audience off balance.

    Looks okay.

"Dune: Part Two" tells stories of worlds both real and fictional in its plot marked with politics, prophecy and power — and it may have set a new standard in sci-fi along the way.
Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two makes significant changes to the canon, emphasizing the dangers of political movements led by autocratic leaders. Changes in the film highlight Paul Atreides' thirst for revenge and lead to more overt themes of vengeance.
I don't think that Trump's being singled out, but, he would continue to be the silliest harmful leader, ever. Ha.

Hmm. I will have to check out that quote about prophecy. Let's see.

Not much, once spelled out (to suit the anagram solver), except for the prefix tele, which - if I recall - has to do with something over a distance. After all, it's only a movie, which will end up on television.

But, actually, more to do with my last post, in the videos section, which had to do with my "Poem for Monet", which started, "Here come dots ..."

I know we covered this before, but I really didn't like the 2021 remake.
The 84 version is much more interesting and has better acting/actors.
    Even with all its flaws.

After seeing the preview, I fully expect Kevn Costner's Horizon Trilogy to be Woke as Fuck too.
He kind of flirted with that in Open Range and the unnecessary love story.

The movies have to be DEI and WOKE today to get green lit.
Mostly because of who is in charge/power and because of the Academy Award rule changes.
The movie industry is dead and can only get worse.
Method Acting will not work anymore because the new generation doesn't understand suffering or the streets.
    No more Oliver Reeds allowed.
The entire industry seems to have moved over to Netflix.

The 84 version also had a then unknown Patrick Stewart. Funny he still looks the same age 40 years ago.

Now, Sir Patrick has come out with a memoir, Making It So. In it, Stewart tells the story of his working-class upbringing in Yorkshire, his first exposure to Shakespeare, and his decision to pursue a career on the stage.

He joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1966 and worked his way up through small roles. But eventually he’d play King John, Oberon, Shylock, Titus Andronicus, Marc Antony, Claudius, Prospero, and Macbeth.
The British actors, who have known each other for more than 40 years, only became close two decades ago when they costarred in 2000's X-Men.

What's the experts opinion on the new movie Civil War? I haven't been to a theatre in I'm not sure how long. But I think I'm going to check this film out. Hope it's not woke...RIP

I have no interest in this movie at all.
Terrible Movie Concept in my opinion.
    Talk about propaganda!
I've read that the movie does not give any reason how the war started.
Expect Fantasy Island and Murder Porn.
If you thought Top Gun 2 was a good movie, you'll probably enjoy this movie.
I know nothing about this Civil War movie.
I only know that you're going be watching it from a super journalist's point of view, whom is a woman.
Expect some sort of Diversity and Wokeness.
Hollywood isn't allowed to produce a movie without it.
I still have not watched Oppenheimer or Barbie yet.
And I have no plans to watch Civil War either.
I'll probably watch them when they are on TV one day in the future.
But I have no desire to seek them out.
I seem to be turning off movies in the first 20 minutes that were released in the last five years.
    Movie Making is Dead.

    Movie Making is Dead.
I did a little more investigating.
I still haven't watched the preview.
    Don't really care to either.
I know how movies are written, produced and shot these days.
    It's over.
We are never going to get the movie making from the 60s on up to 2000 back.
That style and those writing/acting concepts are dead.

Anyways, this movie isn't an action movie.
It's a movie where you are following a group of journalists around.
Expect a lot of useless dialog, poor acting/writing and no concept of plot.

    This isn't a great upload.
    HBO did this in 1997.
At least this is more of a satire/comedy angle.
Hollywood is dead and cannot create anything new...

Your ignorance causes you such blissfulness.

I saw it last night at McMenamins theater in Bend, Oregon.

Holy shit, what a great movie.

Starts a bit slow to get you familiar with characters and settings but then starts rolling and never stops.

I hope you don't see the movie...you don't deserve it.

Here is a review of "Civil War" by arch-conservative, vehemently anti-woke political commentator Michael Knowles:

Yes the '84 version was a lot better than part 1 and 2 of the 2024 version. Part 2 was so woke that the great special effects were no longer enough to distract me from the wokeness, like in part 1 where they were, to an extent. For example in Part 2, Paul Atreides is required to get it on with some aboriginal desert tribe bitch. Most of the whites in the film are portrayed as psychopaths (this is present in Part 1 of course, but not nearly as emphasized as in Part 2). Anyway, like you write, the film would not be allowed to see the light of day if it is not written like this.
