BetOnline has discontinued its reload bonuses.
The reloads were not the world's greatest. Typical sports reload was 25% with 6x rollover, which worked out to 3.33% nominal value. But the bonus was awarded in free play with very restrictive rules. Only certain bets were allowed, with max odds of +150. As restricted, effective value was only around 2% unless I missed an angle of attack.
I saw that as well and wondered why they would change something they have been doing successfully for years.
FYI they often offer up to 100% reload bonuses with 12x roll about once every few months or so. IIRC there's usually a 1k cap.
I was wondering, with the gaining popularity of sports betting and the growing trend of how to gain a legit advantage, Ie podcasts, YouTube, edge-seeking software, Billy's new book The Syndicates, and multi-accounting trends(as what's been being talked about as of late) if they are getting hit a lot harder on bonuses by the SHARPS, and it's just costing them too much money?
Or, are they just following some other new trend by the bigger regulated places?
What would happen if someone created a sports book with 50% less vig and no promotions?
I kind of think they would kill it.
BetOnline has a skin called LowVig, but the differentiation is narrow because BetOnline is not always full-juice, and LowVig is not always reduced. For example, Bucks/Pacers NBA game today. LV has the point spread at -106/106 while BO has full -110/-110 odds. But they're identical on money line (+220/-260).
On MLB, they're both reduced. Dodgers/Blue Jays money line is -116/+106 at both sites.
The other possible attraction of LowVig is tolerance:
BetOnline only wants recreationals:
Screening tools really streamline the process for a motivated individual. But I don't know many individuals are motivated. Seeing 8% profit margins for the regulated books, I have to assume APs aren't a major nuisance domestically. Offshore, I don't know enough about business models to speculate on their circumstances.
From BetOnline's perspective, I can imagine they get a lot of complaints about rules and red tape. Maybe they're trying to carve out a niche apart from the other offshore operators. I would love to see a few of the domestic books offer more frequent bonuses, but with protective playthrough requirements -- something like the DraftKings signup bonus: $1000 with 25x (bonus) playthrough. That's adequate incentive for me, and it protects the operator somewhat.
Can you name anyone that called themselves by that exact word, "sharp?"
NO YOU CAN'T!
All you do is smear other sports bettors. It's obvious a lot of the noted sports bettors that have been featured in this thread have you way outclassed. You are not particularly good at what you do compared to these other guys. So you may as well continue crying about it like a little bitch.
PS: Have you gotten that credit card information to Druff yet? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Challenge to redietz. We bet every NFL regular season game. You make the picks. If you lay the fav I get 2 extra points. If you take the dog I get a 2 point discount. Easy pickings for you.
Mickey, redeitz posted pictures from real Las Vegas sports books like Circa, you just take pictures of parking lots of rural casinos.
Recs don't care much about some things but they do like bonuses. So you are self-selecting the far less profitable bettors. Then on top if that it is far easier for people to find value because less vig to overcome. I'm not convinced
Having sharp enough lines to not have to worry about kicking ppl off seems to be the biggest benefit and the advertising that creates.
See, the problem with the above is that it should be past tense, as in "Redietz, regarding posting pics, WAS computer illiterate." I mean, since I posted these eventually, that seems fair. Or we can debate how not posting photos on a specific website makes one computer illiterate. As someone who knows/knew how to use a darkroom and layout papers for a newspaper, I find it funny to see someone decide that knowing how to publish a photo on a specific online forum is an indication of much.
On the other hand, since mickey as an adult at one time knew nothing about gambling, and since I've been gambling at relatively high levels since a teenager, one could say that mickey IS gambling illiterate, if one were to adopt mickey's inappropriate use of tenses. Or, since mickey, for example, knew nothing about how to exploit a particular sports betting bonus (which I explained to him in a PM), one could again emphasize that mickey IS sports illiterate, again if one were to adopt mickey's curious use of tenses. Hopefully, having had it explained to him, mickey now knows how to exploit the bonus optimally.
Therefore, unlike mickey, I would put "mickey knows nothing about sports gambling" in past tense. Mickey WAS sports illiterate. Now he's semi-literate, although I wouldn't trot him out in polite company a la Eliza Dolittle.
Thank you for your attention and carry on.
I loved the REDietz expression about "keeping me in coffee" - when he tipped the waiter at South Point.
"I tipped one gentleman a sawbuck and he kept me in coffee."
Whatever you might say about him, the man does have a way with words, has come up with some gems, and as fellow Hunter S Thompson aficionados, "the proper code words" in writing can make all the difference.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people.

LOL
What's this I detect, hound?
Could it be Fear and Loathing in VCT?
If so, the loathing I can understand as he's unmasked you but what exactly might you fear from him?
Are you so rattled that you'll follow the Gonzo journalist and check out via a gun to your head?
Prophetically(?)...."The police report stated that in Thompson's typewriter was a piece of paper with the date..and a single word, "counselor."
What, Me Worry?
