Exactly.
It's beyond comical. What, Joe Biden's been sequestered in Mongolia the last three years? With no media access? The same people who have been telling you for the last year that Biden's cognitively A-OK suddenly smell some coffee. Major media has been so manipulative and disgusting from a journalistic perspective. Can you imagine Walter Cronkite pitching the same "Biden's fine" bullshit that was tossed ad nauseum into the public domain by MSNBC and CNN for the last year?
It's beyond sad, beyond funny. The powers that be think the average American is a complete moron. Which, well, maybe, but not THAT dumb a moron.
That was probably the best and brightest Biden we will see going forward, which is somewhere between heart-wrenching and hilarious. I suspect that's why this "debate" was so early.
Here's a slightly subtle point I came away with, and I have NOT heard this elsewhere: I have followed the Trumpster since his days opening the Taj Mahal. I got a jump start back when he debated the younger Bush et al. I didn't see that debate live, but my filmmaker friend, Dennison, had me watch it a bunch of times on his replay machines in the film office at ETSU. And here's the major difference between Trump in that debate and this one. Trump was actually KIND to Biden. His responses could have been much more cutting, much more acerbic, much more attack-mode. But when Biden staggered, Trump pointed it out, but not in some dagger-throwing way. Trump was actually restrained. I was stunned, because frankly, had I been debating Biden and Biden bogged down mentally like that, I would have screamed to high hell and pointed it out each and every time. But Trump let the focus stay on Biden, which was both smart and, dare I say it, semi-Christian?
I can't believe the Dems tossed Biden out there to perform like that. Did they not do milk runs? It was cruel.
I think Russell Brand, who has seen this coming for more than a year, provides the best blend of sarcasm and sincere Christian pity. His debate summaries are spot on. Look him up on Rumble or for short, censored splices on YouTube. For months, Brand's YouTube show has featured ads for 1776 coffee, and the narration for the ads features Biden sleeping on duty. Maybe next they can work some "debate" footage into the ads.
