Thread: Jason's Free Play Results:

  1. #1
Stopped at a few casino's to grab some free play Monday:

    Casino # 1
-- $25 (I thought it was going to be $50): Played 8/5 Jacks or Better: Played 20 hands at $1.25 a play. Result: $25 Cashed Out

I prefer Bonus but bonus at this casino was an absolutely horrible pay table where it didn't pay 2x for two-pair.

    Casino # 2
-- $45: Played 6/5 Bonus: 36 Hands was the goal at $1.25. Ended up around with like $57.50 and played to the next even number and cashed out at $55

    Casino # 3
-- $60: This casino does not allow free play on Video Poker. I found a Rich Little Piggies game that had a well loaded Jackpot pig and 1 away from full max Red pig. The Mini pig is normally $20 but was $51, The Minor Pig is normally $40 and was $135!!!! The Maxi is normally $81. You have a very good chance of hitting the Mini and Minor so these were a great value. Unfortunately this one was on the 600 credit bet with $0.01 denomination ($6.00 per spin). Played through the $60 free play quickly as expected and popped in $100. Right away hit nearly full screen of the golden pig for something like $180 win. Had $280 in the machine and I thought about cashing out and just taking that. But I wanted to hit the pig. Played down to just under $90 and hit the Blue and Gold pigs. Sweet!

The result: $365.76 Win for just over $450 in the machine. I still wanted to hit the maxed out Red pig so sacrificed a little bit for it, and cashed out at $350 for a total of $250 Profit.

Total profit from Free Play for Monday: $330

    Casino # 4
-- Stopped for a free gift (Backpack). No bets placed.

Is this weekly free play? And if so, how did you make out on prior weeks? And what kind of coin-in did you play and results of that initial coin-in to generate these amounts? (If you kept track)

    Each casino is different.

Casino #1 in this case is weekly. I THOUGHT I get an extra bonus on Mondays but they must have discontinued it. This casino is the furthest and I was kind of in the area. I went here to play a poker tournament and while playing I played some $5 Video Poker. Enough to be down $1000 and hit 4oak for $1250 and walk with my $250 profit. They then sent me $400 free play a month later. I played that and degend some more and they gave me $100 + $50 on mondays weekly. That went down to $70 + $50 and now it is down to $25 weekly. I get some gift card offers for like $25 of gas but I'm not going to bother going back for $25 again unless I'm in the area. I mainly just played it through and maybe put in a little of my own, no good results.

Casino # 2 I get daily free play. Today was actually $15 and a choice of a free gift OR $20. I took the $20. I also had $10 worth of points I redeemed. There was a time this casino was giving me $150-$250 per day and I would drive down every day to get it. They have basically put me down to the minimum. I sometimes play a bit, but not much lately here. Their VP pay tables are horrible and its smokey so have no interest in playing there.

Casino # 3 used to give me a ton more free play. Since I couldn't use it on video poker I was playing Blackjack. They were giving me $600 of free play. No results worth mentioning. Just turned it into $ and then degen on VP. Now its like $60 every 4 days and Wednesday I get a minimum $65 with a chance at up to $1000 free play. So I'll be going back on Wednesday. Last week I got the $65 + $100 for $165 free play. Did a similar thing on Rich little Piggies and then hit a Royal for $4K and walked out with over $4K profit. For the next $60 I went back and hit the Straight Flush on Ultimate X for $2000.

Casino # 4 is weekly right now of a wheel spin of $25 up to $100. Tuesday there is a swipe where I get $15 minimum up to $5000. So I will be going there tomorrow (Tuesday) to do the free play here.

Casino # 5 which I did not visit today I have $180 weekly play and on Sunday I get my choice of a $200 gift card or $200 Free Play. I'm planning to go Sunday to have $380 free play. Sunday I took the $200 free play and spun it up to $1200 playing $1 DDB. The week before I got the $200 gift card for my wife. The previous $180 I played TDB progressive and hit 4AWK for $2562... I also put a few hundred of my own in though...

I haven't been keeping track of results... The last year or so I've been too much of a degen and I'm tried of it. I would put my poker winnings into machines and I'm not going to do that anymore.

I did go to fountain Bleu and did a tier match to my diamond elite. I got a gold card. Not sure how many points I put on but I played $0.50 3 line Bonus ultimate x enough to lose $1000. I got an offer for $400 free play and 3 nights for the next three months; unfortunately I can't take advantage of it this month but will in August and September.

Thanks for the response. As, I am sure you know, you really have to be pretty diligent about picking up all the free play to make everything +EV. But maybe that is not even your goal, which is fine.

For years before my Partner passed away, we would get probably 80 mailers monthly between the two of us, from casinos here in Vegas. Back then Stations had 3-4 different mailers for different groups of casinos and even a mailer just for table game play that contained match play and free bets. My partner was the one that ran around collecting all the free play. And he got all of it.

By the time he passed in 2018, Vegas casinos, especially the local type casinos like Stations and Boyd had already cut back pretty dramatically, and I didn't have the time or desire to continue chasing all that free play and putting coin in to generate more, so I pretty much let it go. I had also been "no mailed" at several places by then.

This year I got some tips from a couple LV AP's of 4-5 casinos that were back giving good mailers, so I started up again, but on a much smaller scale. Put in some big coin in and just as the mailers started up, my brother and I got involved in a play that required a lot of travel and we were in and out of Vegas for several months. I was only able to pick up about half the free play, which wasn't really +EV. You really gotta pick up all or most of it. I have now reset the cycle and am waiting for the higher mailer amounts.

The other thing is gas. I assume you are talking mostly southern California? So that is more travel and gas eating into it than some place like Vegas.

Anyway, congrats on your good day collecting your free play.

Me and my father used to go get our free play. But then, we would usually just put more in.

I drove about 160 miles today in my Bronco. So I had to cover gas. I usually take the Tesla but since I had some things to deliver/pick up I didn't have enough room in the Tesla. Solar at home so basically free to charge for the most part.,.

Right now I have so many offers in Vegas I'm actually thinking of booking multiple rooms.

If I book 4 hotel rooms on a weekend I'll have over $1200 of free play across them all. I've never double booked but it's tempting.

I'm using this thread as a way of accountability. I think I'm over my funk from my father's unexpected passing and ready to think with a better head again.

This is referred to as "Fake Bonus Poker". Nice try IGT.

Go for it man. One of the many ways to maximize offers when you live out of town.

Pretty sure I've also seen it outside of Caesars properties. I know for sure Circa has or had it.

The Fake Bonus Poker looks really bad. We have it at all the casinos in So Cal. What is tricky is the machine next to you is 85 bonus, but then the next machine overs is Fake Bonus Poker.

Question regarding booking multiple rooms. Do you need to leave anything in the room? Do you need to go in the room each day for a bit? Or just check in, and not even go into the room?

Get the room key. Go in and look around. Maybe you can find a problem of some sort. Demand a food comp because you're so unhappy.

I wonder if I ever told the story about when me and my father got into Caesars at 2am, got our comped room, went in and there were people sleeping inside?

Is THIS what passes for advantage play these days?

This happened to me twice. Once, I walked in on a couple in bed. Another time, a couple walked in on me. Some of those post-midnight check-ins can be funky.

Cheaper than hanging out at The Green Door.

Happened to me too in reverse at an Injun casino.

Front desk called me at 12:30am woke me actually because they were confused if my room was vacant or not.

Told them it was not but then about 30 mins later a couple tried to open my door, but I had the security chain on.

Front desk still sent them to my room by mistake.

I always keep that chain on if the room has one.

I have messed with the bed a bit and put up the "do not disturb" sign.

To hell with somebody coming in my room. I always unplug the phone, bolt latch the door and hang the do not disturb sign. They'll figure it out one way or another.

Short answer is I don't think so, at least the maid will be happy if you don't disturb anything. My feeling is if you give them a good amount of action, no property is going to give a flying F*** about using the room or not.

The longer answer asks what you are trying to accomplish? If you're trying to maintain comps at all 4 properties then it might be challenging. I'd try going hard a half a day at each one over the 2 days. But if you don't care about burning the comps at a given property then all you should need to do is check in and play the FP off.

Had a conversation with a front desk clerk about this once and they said it’s actually fairly common for people to check into a comped room & then not use it all for a variety of reasons.

I actually do it occasionally at Caesars when I think I might need it, but then my plans change and I end up not using it.

Not a big deal, but I wouldn’t do it regularly at a place where the comps matter a lot to you.

  19. #19
That so-called Fake BP is in at least half of the casinos throughout Nv. Players who don't switch denoms. regularly may miss it because some lower denoms. have it while the higher denoms. on the same machine have regular BP. I just ran into that again at Casino Pete's in Jackpot last night.

As far as booking multiple hotel rooms for the same nights to get the free play or other offers, what AP or overall winning player WOULDN'T do that? I've always pointed out--players who play a lot and overall lose are usually the ones shying away from doing this. They fear those pretty little offers will somehow disappear if they did it....and "woe to the losers who might have to face that terrible fate".

So here are my results from today:

Casino #1 - Harrahs So-Cal: $30 Free Play, I normally won't go here just for $30 as it is a good half hour drive on beautiful winding back roads, but I went for science to see their shitty VP pay tables... $30 free play, out for $95! BINK!

Casino # 2 - Pechanga: Had to "games" to play. $25-$75 weekly spin, got $25. Then there was another Tuesday pick, minimum $15 max $5000, I got $100 which was unexpected. $125 of free play plus I put $12.50 of comps into free play on the machine for $137.50. Long story short, cashed out $115

Net win for the day $210, $209 if you count the $1 tipped to get the deserts for my wife.

Here are the really shitty games at Harrahs:

    Bonus: 10/8 Non-2pair ... I analyzed it as 94.18% return...
    Name: bonus-9418.jpg
Views: 343
Size: 424.6 KB

Bonus: 6/5... 96.86% as good as it gets at Harrah's So-Cal. Their DDB is usually 8/5........ They no longer have any progressives.
    Name: bonus-65.jpg
Views: 348
Size: 351.9 KB

At Pechanga, they have two different 8/5 Bonus games and they are literally right next to each other, you have to be careful!

8/5 Full Pay 99.16% - ONLY play this!
    Name: bonus-85.jpg
Views: 343
Size: 251.5 KB

Then they had 8/5 but all 4oak pay 150! This one is 98.48% which is still not as bad as what was at harrahs!
    Name: bonus-no-good.jpg
Views: 360
Size: 354.5 KB

Tomorrow I have a minimum of $125 guaranteed at a So-Cal casino but can not play the free play on Video Poker. Only table games or slots.
