Do you know how and why some personal information about me, like that I am gay or even the 3 month homeless period as I finished high school, came to be known? neither is something I initially brought up out of the blue.

I was asked to do an interview at Wizard of Vegas forum in 2012. I don't think wizard was doing his podcast back then but even if he was, I wouldn't have done that for obvious reason. So it was the be a written question and answer interview by Mission146, who was a moderator at the time. In the pre-interview discussion Mission explained that people wanted to know more about me, than just the card counting stuff and asked if there was anything I would not be willing to talk about and I said no. Maybe that was a mistake.

So during the interview, I mentioned my Partner, in the context of our video poker play at the time. That lead to a follow up question by a member (not Mission146) asking if that partner was only a business partnership or a personal partnership as well. In other words, he was asking straight forward if I was gay. I could have said that isn't relevant, which would have only led to speculation, but I decided to answer. And that is how it became commonly know that I am gay. It is completely irrelevant to me as far as anything I share about my blackjack career and experiences but apparently it is problematic to many others.

During that same interview Mission asked about volunteer work that I had mentioned I did at the time at a homeless shelter. I only mentioned this in conjunction with my AP play. On Tuesday mornings, I would spend 3 hours doing laundry at the shelter in North Las Vegas, and then my partner and I would visit nearby, Jerry's nugget, for lunch and collect our weekly cash (jerry's nugget gave cash back then instead of free play) and each play a $25 match play and a $25 free play coupon at the blackjack table.

So when mission146 asked about my volunteering at the homeless center, I shared that I had spent 3 months when I was 18 and finishing High school living in a homeless shelter, and it was important to me to give back a little. THAT is how that information came to be known.

So it isn't like I decided to just share every aspect of my life. These things came up during an interview and I answered honestly, as I agree to do. And the haters have been twisting and turning and using things like that against me ever since.

I mean yeah, maybe I should say nothing when these haters lie, saying high school drop out, and all the other lies they repeat daily. It is obviously their insecurity not mine. Maybe I should work on that.

Not sure what the "rolleyes" was about, but if protecting your longevity and anonymity was your primary goal, the proper answer to giving an interview would have been "no", as would be the answer to any and all follow up questions. Just in the reading I've done over that last hour or so, you've talked about your life like a lifetime movie.

Since you have been a member here for 4 years, you probably know mickeycrimms story. (and it is a good uplifting one). What about? MrV? long-time divorse attorney, now retired and recreational gambler (not that there is anything wrong with that -seinfeld), Or how about Singer. Lifetime degenerate gambler, now lives off his kids as aa retirement plan. How about the Dawg. Greatest gambler, stock market player ever, with some daddy issues (never lived up to daddy's expectation and is totally fucked up in the head).

people share some experiences and personal stuff. That is the way it is.

Now in my case, I knew what I could share and couldn't share that could possibly be problematic as far as my advantage play. But that was all based on my perceived adversary being the casino industry (including the database companies and consultants). I knew what I could say and share and they would not be able to find anything that could hurt me too much. What I didn't figure on is that there would be these haters, doing everything in their power to harm me on top of it.

And yes, at any time I could stop posting. Probably should stop posting. But why should I have to. Why should I be forced into that by some trolls and haters?

People should be in pursuit of success and happiness, not fame.

Singer self published a book of nonsense and wrote a gambling column for free. Nothing says success like THAT.

Singer's comments on being famous reminds me of EVERY mass shooter we have, including that fucked up kid that shot Trump.

Edit: when I say self publish, yes I realize there was a publisher. They didn't pay him for it. It was just like the column he wrote for free.

This is where you always get into trouble kew, and why you are constantly fighting with basically everyone after you tell these lies and can't back them up. At that point, we're "bullies", "homophobic", and just "bad guys" according to you.

Neither of my books were "self-published", and I was paid to write both. Royalties have ended on the first but continue on the second.

Like it or not, I was famous for years in the gambling world, and although I was smart enuf to keep my double up play to myself for 5-1/2 years, imagine how much MORE famous I would have been had I got caught.

And therein lies the BIG difference between an uneducated slug like you who was thrown out of the house probably for trying to dong daddy up the ass....and a successful guy IN EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE like me!

Maybe abuse is your thing K. I poked my head in here 4 years ago, didn't like what I saw and never came by again until a couple of days ago. Still don't like what I see, so probably will ghost this place again. One thing I do remember from all those years ago, was you right in the middle of the same drama. Different shit, same drama. The main difference between you and those other guys is they don't seem to give a flying fuck about what others think of them (other than Mdawg, he seems to give a huge flying fuck). You tend to lose your shit on a regular basis. I'll let you get back to it, good luck.

You seem reasonably articulate, so before you fade into the sunset why not check out Tasha's "Young Axl Rose and Carke Cream in 2022" thread in the "Whatever's On Your Mind" subheading: while you're perusing the vomitus perhaps you'd be kind enough to hawk up a few loogies of your own?

That is, try YOUR hand at "creative writing" there: sort of like scribbling on the outhouse wall.

You know: like "Here I sit in stinking vapor, someone stole the toilet paper; shall i sit here and just linger? No by god I'll use my finger."

Written contributions to her comically wretched magnum opus seems to inspire Tasha a bit, and "new blood" is always welcome in that disease infested hot tub...oh, that ain't a Tootsie Roll floating in the dirty water...

You should probably learn to read one of these days. The question was whether Singer is/was famous. I don't believe I mentioned his books. I did not. So why use that as your fulcrum to argue against his being famous? That's either dishonest, inappropriate, or stupid.

More people read one of Singer's columns than bought all of his books. Gaming Today was weekly, so there were plenty of Singer's columns.

For more than a decade, if Singer walked into an LV sports book, people would recognize him. If he walked down LV Boulevard, people would recognize him. That is being famous. That is the definition of being famous.

And understand, I don't love Singer. I don't like Singer. If I find out tomorrow I'm terminal with something, I might shoot Singer. But that doesn't change the fact that by any reasonable definition of "famous," he was famous in the gambling world for a long time.

When I had lunch with Richard Munchkin in May, he brought up Singer. I did not. Now Singer hasn't been in LV in ages, so that tells you the residual awareness of him that anybody has who traipsed through LV making a living gambling during the 90's or early 2000's.

Instead of anonymously playing at knowing what you're talking about, you should do what actual, functioning human beings did during all but the last 20 years. Use your real name, take personal adult responsibility for your writing on forums, and deal with the consequences. Be real. Be an adult.

Nah, I don't want to start going down this rabbit hole. Just killing some time the last couple of days. Time to find other rabbit holes.

Singer was Famous (<- ) and people recognized him for writing a column that he didn't get paid for and a couple books that he didn't get paid for? That is great stuff. Rob, congrats on your....."fame".

He parlayed that fame into what? Living off his daughter in his 70's? The American dream!!!

You still haven't learned your lesson kew, and more lying only makes you suffer over all this even more. I already corrected your lie about not being paid for the 2 books. And "living off his daughter" again? You're known for constantly blabbing that whenever you get frustrated after being schooled. And that is often!

Let's see.....success and happiness. I've been successful and obviously happy with the great family I have, for basically my whole adult life. Then I was famous. Compare that to you: always miserable because you've always been an unproductive failure. Plus I'm normal and you're a homo!

    Hmmm......No wonder you're getting nowhere.

I am very happy. happy with what I have been able to do. Where I am at in life. Happy with life in general.

    https://danielnegreanu.com/year-end-results/

Not long ago Negreanu said "those that make a living playing poker tournaments are as rare as birds with teeth."

A lot of the big shot players like Negreanu get their buyins paid by sponsors. Those that get the endorsements are the ones making the money.
    This is spot on.

About a year ago, I wrote a paper on Daniel Negreanu, that I never published anywhere. The info you posted above, reminded me of this.

How it got started... A little over a year ago I heard Negreanu say something to the effect of, "Not believing Solvers in poker work". I literally couldn't believe what he said.

At that point in time, I told myself that there is NO way Daniel Negreanu is currently a +EV player. So I went on to prove this the best I could. I found the information that Mickey wrote above along with all his CURRENT years! These are results that Daniel provided, himself!

GUESS WHAT THESE RESULTS SHOW, if you analyze them? They Show over the last EIGHT YEARS that Negreanu is NOT a +EV player!

I have not seen this published anywhere. This was something I discovered.

    Is Negreanu a nice guy?
    Answer: Absolutely

Is Negreanu a great Ambassador for Poker?
    Answer: Absolutely

Is Negreanu, over the past 8 Years a +EV player?
    Answer: No

To be clear, if you add up his results from 2016 to 2023 he is slightly profitable, but this is misleading. Negreanu plays in Tournaments with various Buy-Ins, if I had to estimate, he is probably somewhere currently around $20k as an average Buy-In.

In October of 2018, he played in a Super High Rollers Tournament with a buy-In of $300k, which greatly exceeds his average. He won $3 Million dollars in this tournament.

If you minus the results of this one Tournament he is DOWN nearly $2 Million from 2016-2023. As anyone that knows anything about variance, a single days results mean absolutely nothing! If he was sick the morning of the tournament, he does not play. I'm not playing "What if", outliers, both high and low should be excluded, specifically in Poker when you have a win 100x your average score.

    There are 2 questions here:

    1. Did Daniel Negreanu win more than he lost from 2016-2023?
Answer: Yes, he did , slightly.

    2. Is Daniel Negreanu a +EV player (last 8 years)?
    Answer: No

The easiest way to explain this would be if a player has played poker for 20 years and was down $500k over this time. Let's say 1,000 tournaments. This same player enters the WSOP Main Event and wins $2 Million. Same questions, Has this player won more than he lost, in his lifetime? Yes, by about $1.5 Million. The next question, Is this player +EV? Answer: No. He had 1 good tournament. Negreanus situation is similar to this where 1 tournament, where his result was100x his average cash!

Negreanu has around 1,000 tournament in this period. You deducted 1 result and he's down almost $2 Million in 8 years.

So, either Negreanu is a -EV player.

    OR

The Variance is so high, In poker, that a sample size of, full time play for 8 years (1,000+ tournaments) isn't enough to "Get through the variance".

    We are all terminally ill.
We all have a limited amount of time before our own demise and death.
