Thread: Suncoast removes near-100% return video poker (update: 8 machines still there)

  1. #1
Suncoast was one of the best places to play lower limit video poker at good paytables.

    Not anymore.

According to vpfree2, they've killed the following games at 25c/50c/$1.00 per credit:

    Triple Bonus+ (99.8%)
"Not So Ugly" Deuces Wild (99.73%)
    Bonus Deluxe (99.64%)
Double Double Bonus Aces and Faces (99.46%)
    Bonus Deuces Wild (99.45%)
    Ace$ (99.40%)
    Double Bonus (99.11%)

There were some machines taken out temporarily due to renovations earlier this month, but it is believed that the removal of the above machines is permanent.

Suncoast was popular with locals, especially because they have a 10x points multiplier day every Tuesday from 4:00am-11:59pm, for players aged 50+.

    Well, never mind... kinda.

A guy who goes by "The Rampart Rambler" went to Suncoast and checked out the vpfree2 report.

He found 8 remaining machines, near the escalator. So the games listed above are actually still at Suncoast. They've just removed the other machines besides those 8.

I remember the good old days when you had to go out of your way to find bad VP payables. Almost any promotion was +EV at many locations, it was all about finding the best-earning promo with the lowest variance.

That's not to say everything was better back then, just the VP and other things were.

Fond memories of the Reserve, for one. Best pay tables, decent slot club benefits, fast machines, and great promotions for out-of-towners. Plus good location, easy in/out, and after winning and having an excellent meal there it was off to the late great Casino Monte Lago (both versions) and the scrappy little casino at the Hyatt Regency at beautiful Lake Las Vegas for several more muggings....in style.

Anyone who missed out on this has missed out on a truly golden experience.

Suncoast has bad history with $5 VP players. Dancer lost all Boyd Properies years ago because of Suncoast. To read the story google: bob dancer suncoast casino. Then scroll to: booting players the Suncoast way, part 1 of 2
Challenge to redietz. We bet every NFL regular season game. You make the picks. If you lay the fav I get 2 extra points. If you take the dog I get a 2 point discount. Easy pickings for you.

https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/at...1&d=1726849637 Not listed here, but on opening day they had a bank of $5 FPDW that we locked up. It didn't last too long.

I remember while driving there for the grand opening, I didn't lock down the Taga top on my Porche properly and it flew off on the freeway and got crunched, I just said fuck it and kept driving.

Every casino belt-tightens, but it WAS a breath of fresh air.

I still can't get why Stations eventually flattened the place (Fiesta of course) when it had a decent location near population, that huge buffet, movie theaters etc.

    You still have those papers?

I have paperwork for old VP information from 98/99 on about 30 casinos. It's fairly generic information. There is always hidden stuff and better information thats not listed.

The eight machines near the escalator that Rampart Rambler said they found are not the "Up to 99.8%" machines that went missing recently. These eight are just "99%" uprights with only 9/6 DDB (98.98%) on them. I'm a regular player at Suncoast. I looked thoroughly for the old "Up to 99.8%" slant-tops and did not find them anywhere there.
