I think it was about five years ago that Shackleford was touting his parlay calculator. Now some offshores GIVE you one so you can use it. LOL. It doesn't take a Mensan to figure out the issues.
Despite the obvious flaws in betting parlays from a math perspective, let me rant about the aspect that really, really bothers me. Betting parlays teaches sports bettors to be LAZY. To not give a damn about precisely what number they get. They use a "parlay calculator" to compare parlay odds at different books, but don't bother to bet the actual, best number for any given game at the appropriate place! What adds insult to mental injury is that betting parlays downplays the fact that numbers move THROUGH TIME, so any snapshot in time, regardless of how many books are sampled, is less than optimally efficient. How or why people wager this way, with no regard to line moves through time, boggles my mind. Maybe they do it because they want to show off their parlay calculator skill. Yes, Sheldon, that's sarcasm.
It's beyond moronic. I cannot imagine some self-described "APs" ever being able to stomach betting so non-optimally. Any self-proclaimed "AP" who bets this way is demonstrating how non-AP they really are.

When I bet at the book today, I decided to take the Penguins on the Money Line since it was a small favorite at -115.
I took the Puck Line on the Leafs and the Bruins on the Money Line at +115.
I bet a small 3 teamer for a hundo and a 2 teamer for 3 hun.
Looks like I just need the Bruins to win as long as the Leafs don't blow it.
That Penguin game was worth the price of admission.
