Thread: Bet on Kamala.....

The wealthy shouldn't be punished with a "wealth tax". But they shouldn't get tax breaks either. A few days back, Rob described "trickle down economics", which is a term Reagan came up with for tax breaks for the wealthy. The term was new to Reagan. The concept wasn't. And it has NEVER worked. Nothing trickles down. The rich get richer and create generational wealth, resulting in a bunch of spoiled nitwits like Paris Hilton or the Kennedys.

I don't see how a flat rate tax isn't fair to everyone. lets say 10% or whatever number they come up with. If you decide you want to be a cashier at Walgreens and make 25k, you pay $2500 in taxes. If you choose to go med school and become a doctor making $200k, you pay $20,000. If you start a business and make 2million a year, you pay $200k.

And everyone should pay the same flat rate tax. EVERYONE. No deductions, no loop holes.

If you don't want to pay that percentage, you have the choice to make less. You choose what you want to make and what you want to pay. Be a walgreens cashier or a dishwasher. "the world needs ditchdiggers too" ---Judge Smeals from Caddyshack.
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".

I'm not sure what punished means. Everyone is "punished". Why do you think these people should be treated so well?

Why are the "elites" so rarely these people?

Flat tax. Never good with math. Vote for your interest. The wealthy take far far more per person in this country. Some poor guy who barely makes rent doesn't need to pay 20%.

I'd rather not have any income tax. Those who work don't pay taxes. Those who are very wealthy can pay a wealth tax. Plenty of cushion to stay very wealthy.

Wealth tax and no income tax incentivizes actual productive work. It helps the lower classes build actual wealth again.

Nothing unAmerican or anti-capitalist in my reckonin'.

I'm thinking about voting for Trump just because I hate the police and the justice system and every other system we have.

Let's get this annoying election over and move on. We voted for Trump because the guy knows where the problems are and works them. He doesn't care about the sideshows, lawsuits, ACLU nonsense, hate, lawfare, and lies being told about him. He just keeps on getting the job done.

Not very likely, but if somehow this country does elect Harris and that bufoon, then this nation gets exactly what it asks for--and we still move on. Ill just be glad most of the damage they do will not affect us in the slightest. Those who fought for the US and saved the world twice in two World Wars can symbolically say "It was good while it lasted" because this poor communicator of a woman and very incapable lying, question-and-issue-dodging nervous cackler who helped wreck the once great city of SF with her ultra-liberal beliefs, clearly has no talent when it comes to managing anything.

Now what's important is the lasagna my wife's making for tonight's dinner!

I’m not so sure Rob. At least in the short term the markets have figured in a Trump win. I expect a 10% correction if she pulls it off.

Robert, you are correct that there will not likely be any fundamental shift in the quality of your life no matter who wins this election: you and I are long in the tooth now, we've each had our chance at grabbing the brass ring and this election will not likely change our circumstances.

The worst that could happen is a dip in the market and we all know it always has bounced back over time.

The crux of this election and the thing that so divides Americans is the notion of "change."

Dems are "pro-change," republicans are "anti-change."

Conservatives by definition do not embrace change, they want to "conserve" things the way they are; in contrast liberals believe there is a better way to do things than we are doing them now: they want to move on and adopt the new ways.

We as a country are at the tipping point, where about half want change and half don't: hello, Great Divide.

Let those with skin in the game fight this fight; me I just wanna kick back and enjoy my retirement.

What drives me crazy is how deep the various sources of disinformation have clobbered so many people into quickly believing the most rubbish of beliefs.

I've gotta say it boggle my mind that tens of millions of Americans are actually gonna vote for that retarded, cackling affirmative action cunt, hey hey!!!!

Ironically enough, she previously spent part of her professional life pursuing, convicting, and incarcerating criminals of sex crimes and fraud, so this election is like "just another day in the office" for her.

If she has benefited from Affirmative Action I have to say I don't think it is any worse than being born into a wealthy family and clearly benefitting in a large and direct way from it.

Same shit. Use what you got. Far easier to go somewhere when you started out there.

Harris will indeed be our 47th president, even though Trump will win the election.

As soon as the final electoral results are in and she has to concede, she will immediately begin her revenge on sleepy Joe by getting him deleted by the 25th amendment. At that point, she will take the oath. She can then say she was the first woman president in US history. Very, very appropriate and typical for such an incompetent low-IQ dumbass lying liberal bitch like her.

    Donald J.---our 45th and 48th president!

Nah, she'll play by the rules.

    That's what REAL leaders do.

Desperate, multiply convicted felons like your boy will say and do anything to avoid prison...even lying during an election and fomenting insurrection.

    Who knew?

She already was a part of disregarding the rules by forcing out that imbecile Biden and taking over his candidacy without ever receiving one vote or going thru a primary.

Her entire campaign is a con job, and I suspect her reward for losing will be a gig on MSNBC along with a whole bunch of other losers who thrive on lying.

You are still far more optimistic than me Rob. I still see her pulling out PA,MI and WI by thin margins and squeaking by. And the country continues it race to the bottom.

    Damn I hope I’m wrong.

I don't agree with much with you politically Boz, but I think this is probably the outcome. Those 3 states have almost identical political make up and vote similar. And while all 3 are close, if someone is going to sweep them, which I believe will occur, it is more likely Harris than Trump.

Full disclosure: I have a pretty good betting interest with 3 substantial wagers, all made in July while Biden was still the nominee, which I posted here at the time. Two on party, dem over rep, and one specifically on Harris at almost 6-1. Combined, the 3 wagers total just shy of 3-1, which win or lose is a pretty good wager on what is close to a toss-up event. I though I would have the opportunity to hedge those wagers when Harris pulled ahead, and I guess I did for a brief moment in august-sept, but didn't act.

Election night and following day with be interesting and even fun to watch. No doubt Trump will declare victory early on....probably before the polls in key states are even closed. And the Networks, including FOX will all have to debunk that. That will re-ignite a bru-ha between Trump and FOX.

And when everything is counted, I believe Harris will win PA, Wisconsin, and Michigan by slim margin and possibly NC and Nevada, not that they will matter at that point.

And here is my long shot prediction. If Trump wins his Red states by wide enough margins, and can do marginally well in California, maybe 10-15 point loss, but lose the blue wall states by slim Margins, we may see a Trump popular vote win and electoral college loss. Oh how the right would scream about that!!! Maybe then they would be ready to do away with the antiquated electoral college system. It is probably a long shot because of California, but would be fun to see.

And here is my prediction for the senate. 50-50 tie which would give the tie breaker to whichever party wins the presidency.

West Virginia will turn from blue to Red. That is a forgone conclusion, with Manchin out

Mickey's Montana will probably flip from Blue (tester) to red. I don't completely count Tester out as he has pulled off upsets before when trailing in the polls. he seems unusually popular in Montanta for a democrat, but being a presidential election, year with more people voting, he would need a lot of ticket splitting. If it was an off year, he could pull it off, probably not in presidential election year.

Similarly with Cruz in Texas. Even his own party doesn't like him much. If this was an off Presidential year, I think he would lose, but in a presidential election year, just too much ticket splitting necessary for him to lose. he will probably win by 3 percent.

Here is my shocker that not that many people are talking about. Republican Deb Fisher in Nebraska will lose a squeaker. She is up in the polls, but she is too extreme for even Red Nebraska, especially with women. Again it will take a lot of ticket splitting, but she is so disliked, I think it possible. We will see. Otherwise the repubs win the senate 51-49, which is what most people predict.
