Go look up something called GamePlan magazine and when they began publishing. I was using GamePlan's power ratings when I was 13 and kept notebooks comparing their ratings, which had to be adjusted every week by me for all teams, to the UPI selections, the AP selections, a local sportswriter's selections, and my selections. I advertised in GamePlan when I was 21 years old, a full-page ad which I designed and laid out, no less. I still have one of those notebooks from when I was 13.

Do you know how idiotic it is, utilizing pure computer ratings, to try to lump a sport like college football, with disparate scheduling, weather, and a 12-game schedule, in with a sport like college basketball, with a huge interconnected scheduling matrix, no weather but different visual environments, and a 35-game "season?"
